Simple question because it seems like any DB LSU wants they can get. It's crazy how fast we've been converted to DBU and the DLU doesn't have as much appeal. I mean, we're still attractive to DL but it's nuts at how many top 5 DBs pick or LSU or have us in their top 2-3 now.

Is that credit to brand appeal from the university or Raymond's job selling the brand? Which do you think is a bigger contribution to our recruiting?

Raymond is a beast. I hope we're able to keep him around for a long time.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It seems since he came here he is landing some elite blue chippers. I wonder how much of that success is due to Cooper and where he had the DBs at that point. Either way, looks like he's killing it. Defensive side has some dynamite recruiters.

Raymond is a monster recruiter. Look at how the recruits' families, particularly fathers, develop a great relationship with him. Just watch what he does with IMG Academy this year. I predict we get two 5 stars (DB & DE) and a 4 (DB) if we accept his pledge. WE were DBU before him but he has packaged that and owned it!

I'm sure he's an amazing recruiter. LSU is almost recruiting itself at the DB position now though, thanks to PP7 and TM7. The national attention those two kids got at the DB position has no doubt played a huge role is putting LSU on the radar or every top CB.

Raymond, and whoever else is helping bring them in, deserves a lot of credit for closing on these kids and coaching them up to be some damn strong football players though.

He is a beast of a recruiter. The talent he has brought in the last two cycles has been phenomenal. Cooper started it and Raymond has taken it to another level.

Yes..... He is. And deserves a pay raise. $300,000 is not near enough.

Who becomes recruiting coordinator when Frank Wilson leaves to take a HC gig? O or Raymond? We're in good hands either way, but I think that will be Raymond's next promotion. Hopefully it's at LSU and not a rival.

There is no doubt that the prestige of the programs recent history at DB is helping tremendously but Raymond still has to seal the deal. He's a top notch recruiter. He sells the program like he's supposed to do. The prestige allows us to have more realistic chances with the elite of the elite but it can't bring them in. Raymond has to sell it and connect and he does.

Very true. I think the high profile OOC games we played against high ranked teams helped as well. Oregon, West Virginia, Virginia Tech etc. sending the message, " If you want to be the man you have to beat the man."

I don't think Frank leaves to take an HC gig any time soon. He knows where his bread is buttered.
