With the talent LSU has stockpiled at WR, there is no way we go completely run heavy at the qb position. Brennan and Narcisse will both need to be great passers with mobility to pick up yards when it's there.

While Thompson is a good recruit, I would rate Brennan and Narcisse above him. I know health is a concern with Narcisse, but when healthy, I don't think it's close. Brennan may be the most polished when it comes to reading defenses and he has a strong arm and is accurate. I hope they get this settled soon.

Lyons Yellin is an absolute hack. Believe him if you want. According to Brennan he's still comitted to the tigers

They say you can't teach accuracy. I'd say that's half true. You can teach mechanics, which may improve accuracy. But the 'core' of accuracy is mental and a good bit anticipation. It's a connection between the eyes and mind first, visual perception and modeling of the events yet to come. So if given the choice I'll take a QB coming out of HS that has shown aptness towards accuracy over legs. At least for this LSU team right now. Hence Brennan, and by many reports Narcisse too, have what we need the most.

Then Brennan and Narcisse compared notes, and it just didn't add up

If this is in ANY way true, major screw up for O in his 1st few weeks of being HC.

If these kids don't believe you have their best interest at heart, it won't end well.

Lyons Yelling or whatever his name is the worst sports reporter in Louisiana and a huge Alabama homer.

The man literally has a peanut for a brain.

It doesn't appear that he is at the top of their QB board.

Lyons is probably full of crap, but honestly with O's actions to date, it wouldn't shock me. I was pulling for the guy early on when he started at Interim, but he lost me after the Bama game, not because of the L, but because of overall how it was managed and handled.

Add to that the shite show that was the search and the the way it happened only gave O more leash than he deserves proves the stupidity of Alleva.

O's recruiting prowess is overrated and honestly, being a great recruiter at USC, Tennessee, and LSU aren't that amazing of tasks. That and the fact that recruiting as a HC and a position coach are two entirely different things, but Ophiles won't accept that.

I just don't understand under any circumstance how we are not kissing Brennan's arse until signing day! I would be on his doorstep every morning just to high five him and wish him a great day! This guy is not a statue , so I don't care what kind of offense LSU runs. This guy can get it done. It would be an astronomical fail to not sign him in this class.

The offensive scheme matters. He can't just play in "any" system. Nor does he want to. Fit is everything.

I think a lot of LSU fans will be. I know I'll be very upset, and it will not fill me with confidence in Coach O's recruiting abilities or football smarts. Unless we eventually find out a very good reason for Coach O's quixotic quest for the 5-star Alabama commit at the expense of alienating Brennan, that move seems like an idiotic one.

Orgeron overestimates his abilities, and no matter how charismatic he thinks he is, in the end, kids have a much better alternative than LSU with him as coach.

I seriously doubt kids are going to come to LSU for O. They will come for the coordinators, both of which O is risking a lot with because his supposed targets are people that will not be here more than 1-3 years. It will be a problem and the Kiffin thing is a reason for that. Why would a kid come to LSU as a QB for one year of Kiffin knowing good and well he won't be here for more than a year or two?

Does the staff feel confident in flipping Thompson from state?

If it's true it's a terrible, terrible mistake. Kills any optimism I had about O. Back to dumbing down our offense. Why do we refuse to evolve?

Well, in today's day and age, most coaches consider dual-threat to be the evolution, shifting away from more traditional pocket passers.

Brennan and Narcisse are two of the top ten HS QBs in the country, IMO. Narcisse was the #1 dual threat at one time, and Brennan has caught on like wildfire. For LSU to land both would be huge, and neither one has ever shied away from competion, so I don't think "chest" has anything to do with it. It has to do more with wishy-washy recruiting tactics and lack of trust, as well as the offensive philosophy that this staff plans to implement. Can't fault a pro style kid for not wanting to play in a dual threat system, and vice versa.

Still the kid needs to nutt up like Guice.

LSU getting talent has NOT BEEN THE PROBLEM.

No matter who we get, O deserves a chance to install an Offense based on what QBs we have.
