Just saw some of his track times from about a week ago. 6'4, 215, 40+ inch vert, and he ran the 55m in 6.39 seconds and the 300m in 34.6. His 300m time is 10th in the nation.

No, according to 247 Demetris Robertson is. 247

But they do have him as 4* WR. I just wonder if he's going to play football after all the talk of him being interested in soccer.

A 6.39 in the 60 is blazing.... Sure it wasn't a 60? They run the 60 indoor and its indoor season.

Then why does the nfl covet track guys at the combine?

I know it doesn't make the player, but it sure helps.

Very sure.

If he was running 6.39 in the 60, he would be #1 on the NCAA Indoor Track and Field performance list by more than a tenth of a second which isn't very likely. Kid is still one heck of an athlete though.

Eta: don't misunderstand he's an exceptional athlete and I truly hope he plays at LSU. I'm just bored in the rain.

Yeah I first saw his times on 247 then looked at his other numbers on a track and field site.

He's not as tall as his father, but he's also mastered the art of the transfer.

Yes he is IMO. Guy is in the freak category of athletes, a Julio Jones type. Elite size, elite speed, elite vertical. I wish he was invited to the Opening or at least done some of the Sparq combines. That kind of athleticism can be placed at a number of spots as well.

Drake Davis is an absolute man. I saw this dude when he was in middle school, and even back then I knew he was going to be special. He literally had the physical build and muscle development of a high school junior or senior when he was in 7th grade...shite you not. I would not doubt it if he one of the top athletes in the country. LeBron James esque

With all the trial and error is seems he's trying to turn the art into a science.

Quote from a coach at the recent IMG 7-on-7 Nationals.

quote:

*** ATH Drake Davis: “A freak, an absolute freak. He is not going to go out there and run a precise curl route, or run routes as well as others. But you talk about a guy who made catches that average receivers can’t even think about making. He goes up and gets balls, and made some one-handed catches that were impressive. I don’t know if he is a natural ball-catcher, but if he goes somewhere and gets good coaching he can learn to be. He probably was the most athletic guy there all weekend.”

Somebody made a great comparison for Davis yesterday. George Canpbell. Freak athlete that isn't a natural pass catcher. I think Tony Ball will fall in love with him at the July camp and take him, I hope he does at least. A kid that athletic will have a place on the field somewhere. Anywhere
