4* out of Mississippi supposedly impressed at OL/DL camp. This guy looks better than Ivy the prospect we are recruiting from League City. Go watch the tape guys.

Word is that they told him to hang tight, bc apparently the next spot for an IOL will remain open for Blake Ivy (who is visiting on 6/23/23). That recruitment is coming down to LSU and Texas A&M.

If Ivy goes elsewhere, then it sounds like they will pull the trigger on Z. Brown.

Will be interesting to see how this one plays out….

Good info. Kid is violent and moves well. I like him more than Ivy just looking at their tape. Ivys tape has him kitting corners and small olb. Browns tape he’s punishing 3 techniques into the ground and off screen.

I haven't had a chance to take a look at Ivy's tape.

But I'm with you on Z. Brown's tape, in that I like what I saw from it as well.

I agree. I wonder how many lineman scholarships we have to give out though. One tackle already on board. Do we have the room for 2-3 more of the big fellas? Obviously highly rated OL you make spots for but guys floating around that 300 rank 3*-4* fringe guys how many spots do we have for that?

To answer this question bluntly: As many as we need that the coaching staff is willing to take. Also, remember there is no 25 scholarship limit for the 2024 class. Only limited by the total 85 number.

A lot of those borderline 3* - 4* star OL kids turn out to be very productive players on the OL. To name a few that were not on the borderline that did well here at LSU, Damien Lewis and Lloyd Cushenberry from just recently (both now playing pro ball). Learn to trust the professionals and not the jock sniffers, ah sorry the journalists/analysts/ranking doinks.

OL is the one position that outside of the no brainer elites where ranking is truly insignificant. Over half the NFLs OL werent projected to be there by recruiting rankings. Too many variables. Outside of the Campbell/Jones quality kids, you look for clay to mold. The Mascoli kid we are on is clay. Could be highly successful or a nobody. Thin line.

We need to reestablish the Gulf Coast pipeline to LSU. Most of Mississippi lives South of Hattiesburg and a lot closer to LSU than Ole Miss or Miss State

And the talent continues to pour out of the coast. Picayune ocean springs Pascagoula always have a few great athletes.

Certainly plenty of room at this point. We normally take at least 4. OL recruiting has a lot of misses, so not even close to done for this cycle.
