Although this guy doesn't have any stars, Orgeron and Miles saw something in this kid that they believe will make him a very good FB.

I'll trust our coaching staff who go and see these guys practice and play in person over any (bama)biased star rating system.

Fullbacks just aren't evaluated that much as it is a niche position. No big deal.

Take the Bama part out of your post. Their players have performed pretty well.

Fullbacks used right add many extra yards to RB's stats.

I heard him this morning on 104.5. Kid has his head screwed on straight. Said he loved knocking the snot of of LBers on every play. Said LBers don't like getting hit on every play but he loves bringing it to them

Said he plays DE but Coach O said he is not big enough to play DE in the SEC.

Outside of following the moderators guidelines, nobody tells me what to post, so you can take your advice elsewhere dude.

Aside from that a lot of people around here act like Bama is God's team or something, and all their recruits are made of solid gold or some crap.

As I've stated repeatedly, as of now, our recruiting staff man for man, can compete with anybody.

I freaking cant stand Bama or anything to do with that team, including the head coach, so they can go screw themselves. Even if they were to win the NCAA championship every single year, I will never like that team. Get off Bama's jock.

If you watch the footage of Carter he does get after people whether it was on defense or playing FB, I could care less how many stars the guy has.

I would tend to think that about 99.9% feel the same way on here

I'll be honest, I like this kid a lot as a FB prospect, I think he will be very good there.

What I'm not too keen on is us taking yet another FB.

Moore is a junior, Mouton and Ducre sophomores. Did we really need a 4th scholarship FB for next season? This position is in no danger of guys leaving early, we also tend to find a walk on at times to fill the role effectively (and usually give a scholarship too, rightfully so). Not a single slight to Carter, he looks like he will knock some guys back, I just question taking a FB in this class.

I hate Bama. That doesn't mean somebody can't be objective. But by all means, sound like a dumbass if you would rather that.

When Moore went down last season Mouton and Ducre weren't that great replacing him. They will likely improve but if they don't you have Carter waiting in the wings.

They were freshmen. I dont think that's a good excuse to have 4 scholarship FBs on this team at once. Hell at one point last year they were working out 5 or 6 scholarship guys at FB. that's ludicrous.

I think the position has a place in our offense, albeit it should be a piece used less and less as our offense should adapt more around the QB we decide to play. There's just no logical reason to carry so many scholarship FBs at once though. I'd much rather add a 5th LB to the class or take on 1 more DL.

Also, look at the success they have had with finding walk ons to fill the role exceptionally well. Stampley was a walk on. Neighbors was a walk on. Moore also a walk on. Those guys got here and didn't cost us a spot in their particular incoming class. They ended up earning a scholarship.

If you have a chance to get a great prospect, you jump on it.

Not all prospects pan out.

Just think if they used that reasoning for Jacob Hester.

"Take the Bama part out of your post. Their players have performed pretty well"

My remark was in response to the fool that posted this garbage listed above. Bama recruits do not deserve to be put up on a pedestal above our recruits, or anyone elses.

Follow the entire thread before running your smack.

I agree, as long as it doesn't negatively impact other position you need to recruit for.

I mean, by this logic we'd have like 15 CBs on the roster because so many want to come play here, but fact is we cant have 15 scholarship CBs on the roster.

Is it necessary to have 4 or 5 scholarship FBs on the team at once? No, no it isn't. One of these guys play at a time, they dont leave early for the NFL, and they seem to rarely work out at other positions.

QB is one thing because you get different philosophies (dual threat vs. pro style) there and guys leave early as well as transfer. Hell, we had more scholarship FBs on the team last year than QBs, that simply shouldn't happen.
