re: In all honesty, what type of class do you feel LSU will end up with for 2014?

Damn good. I think we lose out on Noil and Cam Rob but get Malachi, Kenny, Trey, Laurence, Paris, Tony, Davon, Gerald and Clifton.
Posted on 6/6/13 at 2:11 pm to jamal
I dont think it helps when recruiting sites are advertising Louisiana having alot of top talent this year
Posted on 6/6/13 at 3:10 pm to CatsGoneWild
even if we lose out on some, its still gonna be arguably the best class unless something goes horribly wrong.
Posted on 6/6/13 at 3:31 pm to JayKrewe
We may not get both speedy and cam, but I think we get one of them. Along with everyone else we're expecting
Posted on 6/6/13 at 3:36 pm to GeauxLSU4
HaHa, I think we will get both of them.

have you ever followed recruiting? Bama isn't raiding shite. Everyone just assumes Cam to bama. The Bama mods can't read him either. He's now been to Bama and LSU the same # of times this Spring and it's still anyone's ballgame. Speedy is FW's cousin and Dhaquille is a noted attention seeker. Harris can't go to Bama if he wanted and local sources believe it's still LSU for Harris. This ebb and flow stuff is going to happen each cycle, but definitely this season, due to all the top level talent that is heavily considering LSU.
Regarding 5 stars, the following guys are composite 5 stars on 247:
Parris - Commit
Brown - LSU lean
LF - LSU Lean
Clifton Garrett - LSU Lean
Hootie - LSU Lean
Willis - LSU Lean
Dhaquille - LSU/Auburn/A&M
Noil - A&M/LSU
CRob - Bama/LSU
IMO, we get at least 6 of the 9 mentioned 5 stars. That will equal the #1 class. However, if LSU gets 6 five stars and are ranked 3, who really cares. The talent coming in would be sick regardless of ranking.

I think alot of you guys are clueless who think LSU is going to have this "amazing #1 class
You're clueless, we could have the 10th ranked class and it could end up being the best. Those rankings don't mean shite. Most people on here aren't necessarily talking about the #1 class on paper, but #1 in terms on college production

Harris probably not coming here
No biggie. Don't really need a QB in this class, but it would be cool

Noil's top 3
Yeah like that's final.

Bama, Mich, and OSU will probably have better classes
How do you know? Can you predict the future. Those rankings aren't always accurate. If they were Auburn wouldn't have been a shite show the last two years.

Willis - LSU Lean
I hope you are right about Willis being a LSU lean. TAMU folks and Florida folks are saying that he is a strong lean to them.

Very doubtful Michigan will have a higher ranked class than LSU. They are only planning on taking 18. UM would have to land Hand, McDowell, Westphal, Adoree, Artavis Scott, and Jamrco Jones. Even then I don't think they could top LSU.
I don't see OSU having a better class than Michigan. They seem to be behind in most of their targets.
Bama is really the only team I see havng a chance to have a higher rated class.

Top 5 class.
I think we miss out on a few really big fish that we think are "locks".
It also depends how we do this season.

If we are below #3 this place will be ugly because I think that will mean we missed on quite a few big name prospects. Though I think we will finish 1 or 2.

since you are so confident, why dont you tell us who we are going to lose and where they will go.

I'm not saying we will lose these people(I DON'T WANT TO).
But if we do lose out on a few big names, I think it could be Cam Robinson, Cam Sims, Brandon Harris, & Possibly Davin Godchaux.

I think it will be #1, #2 at worst with Bama the only school I think can beat us.
QB
I personally think we take Kizer and then try to swing Harris but don't see that happening. After that we probably take a big swing at Brandon Dawkins, who I think may be better than both of them down the line. No matter how it works out we'll be in good shape, maybe great. At least 1 solid 4*, maybe 2
RB
Fournette plus either Darrell Williams or Sione Paleilei. I prefer Williams but would be fine either way. Great as long as Fournette is in. A 5* and a good solid high 3 or low 4
WR
Blacknall
Quinn
Dupre
Noil
Upchurch
Maybe the Chark kid.
I think the staff makes the correct decision and bows out of the Williams thing. That kid seems like more trouble than he's worth for just 1 year. With the new emphasis on character in recruiting I just think they choose to let Williams be someone else's headache. Great group, probably tops in the country. At least 4 strong 4* kids and possibly 5 or 6
TE
Anthony Jones and Jacorey Washington. Good haul. At least one 4*, maybe 2
OL
Clapp and Brumfield for sure. I think Robinson is a goner so we'll search for another guy. Who is anyone's guess but they'll find someone to fill that spot. Solid group. Disapointing to lose CR but Brumfield is a stud and Clapp is the type of kid that just does well in college. The 3rd guy will be good for depth at the least. At least 2 srong 4*
DL
Willis and Clark are the only 2 I'm sure about. Both are high 4*, possibly 5* talents. Who else gets in is anyone's guess. I personally think Godchaux gets in. Strong 4* there. We'll get a solid DT in there somewhere.
LB
Alexander
Garrett
Rhaheed or Young. I don't hink both are in. I'd watch Kameron McKnight possibly being in here. Regardless a strong group with a 5* and at least 2 other strong upside guys
CB
Brown
Paris
Hardeman
Best in the nation even though I think Paris is destined for S. 2 5* and a good one in Hardeman
S
Jones
Voorhies
Micheal Johnson
Possibly the best group in the country, for sure if Paris is factored in here. Johnosn is very underrated. Kid may end up better than Paris and Jones long term.
That's a great class with just the guys I'm confident in getting. There will also be some wild cards that none of us know about yet.

Well, half of our remaining recruits better be 5 stars to get this AMAZING class.
Nah, we want 3 stars instead.
If LSU is in the top 2 or 3 for all these top recruits, they better start getting them to commit and not wait. If they keep waiting, Miles will take 3 stars in their place.
Yes, Im star gazing. We need a top recruit to commit and start a chain reaction. Its too dead. We go from #1 class to being behind UK, UT, OM, A&M, Bama and a bunch of non SEC schools.
