miles is getting schoolled by saban in recruiting right now. not only does he have top players from georgia committed but he is also stealing other programs top recruits..eg yeldon from auburn and taylor from fsu. in comparison miles out of state recruiting is pretty dissapointing

This could be the dumbest thing I have ever read. Who really gives a frick about OOS when your own state is littered with sec talent. So les doesn't sign 30 and process the rest annually. Dont let the rankings fool you; the line between 1-10 isn't much if any due to many factors; enrollment, lack of film, evals, etc. That has been proven this year by LSU dominating every opponent although they finished "5 on average instead of 2" and our 2 All Am CBs were both 3 stars.

Look, the key to success here is to properly evaluate and keep La kids home. With pledges from Landon and Phillips, LSU would have a success rate of 18/19 on instate offers. That's 95%.

he says that saban is stealing in-state players from other programs while in the same breath he is comparing OOS recruiting?

Bama hits top 3 While LSU hits top 5 each year. Combine that with the fact some La kids are undervalued due to film quality and I don't buy that we need to finish strong but just keep doing us. The separation between 3 and 5 is minuscule if any at all.

My eye balls tell me that LSU has more players than Alabama

Saban has no choice. Last year, they only signed 5 players from the state of alabama. The year before only nine. So far, only 8 commitments in-state. Don't act like he is so superior over Miles because Saban is forced to fill spots with OOS kids.

Good point. Fisher has been sticking it to saban the past two years and. Stealing blue chips from under his nose

Thanks for setting these fools straight. The film program sucks in Louisiana. If we were up on our film like FL or tx, the stargazers who don't really get recruiting would be happy. The way I look at it is: due to the film issue; see debo jones example; if LSU can get 80% of instate offers with a few OOS fillers and finish top 5-10, the talent to develop is there.

Has a ton of untapped potential much like Morris Claiborne when he came out. That seems to have worked out pretty well.

I

I wish people would stop and think about guys like MC17, TM7, BL93, etc before they comment. Trust the staff; we are 13-0 and playing for the title.

Recruiting Gurus: Does DGB give LSU a more serious look if Kiel commits?

Recruiting Guru's: If the answer to this question is yes, how much of an impact do you think DGB would make his freshman year? Is he better than some of the guys we have on the roster now.

If Miles was signing a lot of out of state kids you guys would be complaining we are allowing these 3 stars from in state to be signed by other programs.

This would automatically make them 4-5 stars can't miss recruits in your eyes and Miles would be making a huge mistake letting them get out of state.

Yall just mad.

I'm no "Guru" but it sure seems that a Kiel commit might give several highly sought after prospects another reason to turn their head in LSU's direction. We only have a handful of slots left, but if even just two (3 would better!) of those slots are filled by DGB caliber recruits I'd say we had a pretty good recruiting year.

The championship implications will show in next class, when the players as juniors are beginning their recruitments during the championship run

I don't care what a bunch of middle aged fat dudes with beards ranks our class.

Miles and crew knows the talent better than those guys. TM7 and MC17 are perfect examples of this.

Miles seems to b able to evaluate talent and team chemistry needs better than most. Would u trade higher ranked classes, but have Mac brown as ur coach. Not me. In les I trust.

My Christmas wish list:

Keep all announced committments and land the below:

Landon Collins - No. 1 recruit (native son)
Jermey Hill - Great addition to the RB staff
Gunner Kiel - Finally a 5 Star QB
Javonte Magee - Great surprise - a future DL terror

Its just kinda odd that all these teams around us, and now OSU is pulling in recruits while we have only gotten one recruit in a long time. Being ranked #1 hasnt gotten us anyone. Seems like we are sleeping. We need to wake up in the next few weeks.

you delusional F***. Please post less

If we get Kiel and landon we will be number 1 or 2.

At the end of the day, I'm a firm believer that the majority of our class should always be Louisiana kids. That's not some Louisiana pride deal, just the fact that this state churns out outstanding talent, many times it is overlooked by recruiting publications that haven't done a great job evaluating in the state, and these kids show up and help us win titles. It all starts at home and Miles has done an outstanding job in that regard. And for positions that we've lacked in state, Miles has done an outstanding job of going out of state. I wish we had some more traction in TX but we've still managed to get some very good players there recently and I'm very happy about the prospects of a guy like Hunter. But the OOS offensive line haul has been phenomenal.

Get Kiel, please land Collins (still not confident though), and win the NC on the field. Sounds like a good year.

High schools and coaches in Louisiana don't really have the know how or resources to get the kids early exposure.
