Do we take only three more, or do we take four and grayshirt someone?

My question is: if we land Kiel, will that influence some other top fish to want to come? These top-rated recruiting classes are contagious...see how it worked out with Michael Clayton's class and Russell Shepard's

It would be nice for sure, only other big fish I can think of is Mario Edwards...but if we land Kiel and then Collins thats all I really need to be honest.

That's what I'm thinking. Landon Collins would have to decide whether to go with a team that looks like a champion, or go to a defense that the #1 QB in the country is going to embarrass.

If DBG, Edwards, and Howard wanted on Board....yep! Hand out the greys. Also might be some academic casualties, just by judging past years.

Florida state has 3 of the top 4 de's in the country. Can't imagine they all stay their.

the tricky part is that the Kiel commitment would be coming so late in the process. Those other classes had a lil bit more time to marinate and come together.

Recruiting Gurus: Does DGB give LSU a more serious look if Kiel commits?

LSU needs help. Been a weak class for being ranked #1 most of the year.

what are you talking about?

The team rankings for what makes up the current LSU squad is as follows:

2008: 11
2009: 2
2010: 6
2011: 6

Currently, LSU sits at #5 with the probability of shooting up even further with the likes of Kiel, Collins, Phillips, and maybe someone I'm missing out there.

How is LSU that far off from the classes that made the 2011 team so dominant?

If anything, it shows the mark of consistency on the part of Miles and company. You lock up the state as best as you can, and do what you can with OOS targets.

That's always been the philosophy, and nothing is different this year.

I agree with CatsGoneWild it is pretty average for a team that has been ranked #1 for the whole year..I know ranking don't matter but damn i would love to get some big time recruits to..

Kiel is enrolling somewhere for the spring semester. We will know about him before others are signed.

I hope Kiel's commitment gets us more in to the running for DGB and Davonte Neal

the key here is not what everyone else thinks about the flashy players we get. It is important that we get what we need. Miles did an excellent job of that last year as evidenced by how many true freshman played meaningful minutes
