Bad part is, even if we would have know about Davis, Bourque still wouldnt be here. It would have had to have been Hill not come, it was very well stated he wanted to be the only RB.

I really don't care about our choice with Bourque. It's a position we're stacked at and I didn't think he would overtake any of them. Hill is a star, not too sure about Bourque.

I was/am more upset about losing Kiel than the defensive guys. We will be fine on defense regardless of losing Collins and Davis.

Kiel, IMO, is going to be a hell of a QB.

Worrying about stars behind a name again....That means nothing at this point and time

Not a valid point this time. LSU offered him and went after him. Were the coaches 'worrying about stars' too?

Point is he was another highly touted LA prospect that LSU wanted and failed to hold. Simple as that.

Good point by OP. I think the meltdown would have been less but still there.

When is the last time we didn't sign one player in the top 100 in the country? None in Rivals or SI. Crazy.

Hill wins that battle everytime.

Absolutely. I was a bigger fan of Hill over Hilliard and Hilliard looked great this year. So I'm pumped about Hill.

Not a meltdown, just the cold, hard truth.

We filled some needs but we lost some studs from our own backyard.

The unspoken fear is the potential that this years exodus of some of the elite players from La is a sign of a trend. (Probably not in reality).

is this a meltdown?

No.

Kwon to LSu is a pretty big deal IMO.

Agreed, but ACL tears are tricky things.

He could come back full strength, or never play a down of CFB.

NSD brings out fans that don't really follow recruiting. Today was just another defeat for these guys. This has been the hardest month and a half that I can remember as a sports fan. 1st the Hornets implode by trading Paul. Then we have the LSU abortion on Jan. 9th, followed by the Saints not tackling or covering anyone with 2 minutes left.

I just hope that this starts to subside before Mardi Gras. I don't look forward to the angry/depressed binge drinkers and the inevitable open-air domestic abuse that follows.

I GUARANTEE you they looked at that horses teeth pretty good before they sent Torshiro packing...

It's been a tough month but i was feeling like we really turned the corner. The recruiting staff did an outstanding job closing the gap (having to since we did such a poor job securing in-state talent), we get Kwon so i'm feeling even better then bad news AGAIN, we lose a 4 star in Davis. Probably an over reaction but it definitely rained on my parade.

Overall still a pretty good class. But my what it could have been.

Throw in the Bama game plan, and this is not what $1 mil a year buys you.

True. I still think his upside makes it a potentially great sign. All recruiting is a crap shoot, you just work with the odds.

Davis just ripped off the gauze, and added some salt.

It is a glaring reminder that we are unable to get instate talent to stay home.

Yeah, it seems to have crippled out 24-3, SEC Champ, pre season 2012 top 2 pick, program the last couple of seasons!!! some of you need to really get a grip on your perspectives!!
