stop acting like you're an NFL scout. You'd know jack shite without rivals, scout or memphis spoon feeding you. If you didn't know who Avery was in that film, you wouldn't be shoe shining him as a five star. Cut the holier then thou shite.

It's not acting like a scout, it's called being knowledgeable. Coaches know it, fans know it, it's not real common sense unless you're just a spectator.

I'm glad you think I just copy and paste what I see on websites. Who are you, the recruiting police or something? God forbid the recruiting board has a knowledgeable fan on it. Don't worry, I'll dumb down my posts for you from now on if it makes you feel more comfortable

TigerEggs,

I will say this...your initial post in this thread should be edited. The admin slap is over the top. They work really hard to run a tighter ship around here and I'm for it. You were on solid footing until that.

Don't you have another board to bump your post count on with your one sentence posts? You don't really contribute to anything on most boards on here

It's one of those "ask and you shall receive" times here on TD

I'm not a scout so...honest question:

If you saw avery video and didn't know anything about him would you say he was deserving of 5star status?

Not trying to prove a point, just want an honest opinion, and to know what Im not seeing

What I meant by those two examples was no one really watched them and were "Wowed" by what they did. With both receivers, you would barely see anything, but the next thing you knew they would have 9 catches for 120 yards and 2 TDs.

Watch Jarvis Landry in the UA game. When his team needed a first down, those QBs zoned in on Jarvis because they knew exactly where he was gonna be and that he was gonna catch that ball. That's the same thing that you are gonna see with Avery. When you have reliable receivers, it makes you as a QB breathe a lot easier. While his videos are more entertaining than Avery's are, they both show off their 3 best assets: Hands, Route running, and Run blocking.

but that's not what a 5-star does

5-stars are athletic freaks who do jaw-dropping things. they're not possession receivers or blocking tight ends

I'm no scout either, I've just played and follow sports more in-depth than most (I can remember a lot of colleges of athletes, but can't remember my parent's birthdays or much I learned in college, which might be more alcohol related. Thank god for technology though )

But, to answer you, no his video doesn't give that wow factor that most 5* athletes give out if you're just watching it. From that video, he looks like a high 4* at worst

You arrogant arse. This exactly my problem with you. I don't need a dumb down from you.

All those awesome people missed on your hall of famer examples.

I wasn't trying to step on any toes, but I really didn't say anything bad. I was just looking for answers.

if you're so knowledgeable, then you should know that there is a stocked supply of kids who can do that

5-stars are supposed to be guys who have super potential, not typical potential

He doesn't look like a 5*. I think that his play style has grown greatly since that video. IMO he looks like a low 3* prospect and that is okay. Sometimes it takes people time to grow and be groomed. Not trying to argue just giving you a response.
