I heard Texas is starting to recruit Willis. I know they are late to the party, but could be a threat.

So let's say the worst happens with Gilmore and we do not land him. Where do we go from there? He's listed as a DE but am I the only one who believes he will move inside? We have Tevin Lawson who I think will be a nice DT but with Logan possibly moving on,Downs graduating and Ego/Freak to be doing the NFL route fairly soon, we need DT's. Are there any out there besides Gilmore and highly touted ones like Manning who we have a legitimate shot at, maybe in-state?

I believe Beckwith will play a good amount of DE early in his career due to the losses we will experience there. At first, I thought he was in line to become a OLB but honestly we need him more at DE and he is quite versatile.

Beckwith is a very talented guy without a position. He is probably not going to be a linebacker in Chief's scheme, and he is a small-ish DE. Reminds me somewhat of Maclin. Everyone thought he was going to be a nice Mike LB prospect, but was moved to DE and can't seem to crack the rotation.

If Gilmore doesn't pan out, then we better have a backup plan. DT is going to get awfully thin in a couple of years.

I still think we have a shot at Goodman. Playing time will be plentiful in a year or two in the secondary.

I think that's whats great about Beckwith it his ability to play anywhere, but you're right with his size OLB seems logical.

As for Goodman would love to have him and he would play extremely early during his time here but the good news is with the 2014 class and the high amount of interest from top rated DB's we don't necessarily need him. However, Id feel better about our safety position if we were able to get Willis or Goodman, with Willis being the most possible IMO

I still don't feel we'll land Goodman but apparantly he is back on the board. We'll see. If USC doesn't take him(Leon McQuay may beat him to the punch) then I'll like our chances much more.

Don't know where we would go if we miss on Gilmore. We've been in contact and have impressed a couple of the FL DTs but those guys are very fickle and at least one is a major grade risk. I have no hopes of landing Justin Manning and also have heard we aren't really pressing for him anyway. Isiah Golden publically said he was willing to listen but as far as I know we haven't really expressed much interest there either. I'm sure the staff has a plan. I hope so. Hopefully if Gilmore does end up elsewhere, he does it a little early so we have a good shot at another guy.
