Oklahoma State, Arkansas, and Louisville have all offered. It's been said he is very interested in another SEC school that has not yet offered, but I don't know what school that is.

I don't think he'll be a part of this class for LSU, but all 3 schools above would be a good landing spot for him.

SEC wise.

Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Georgia, Vandy (Lol). Would all be good "fits" for him.

Not really.

Mobile
Flynn (2007)
Russell (2005, 2006)
Jefferson (2009)

Not mobile
Lee (2011)
Mett (2013)

Those are the good seasons. Our problems haven't been because a QB was mobile, that's asinine. Our problem was one, losing Perriloux that set us back throwing true freshman and redshirt freshman into the fray. Two, no QB coach from 2007-2012. When you throw out a guy into a complex offense (1-2 plays per some formations), without fixing any of his deficiencies from high school, they tend to struggle, and badly. This isn't a point and click 4 wr spread offense, we were some Frankenstein offense with Crowton.

the kid is a 4 star now. yet we aer offering other pocket passing 4 stars from oos schools. I makes no sense for that to happen.

I'm not saying the staff does or doesn't know something we don't, I am saying that all things being level, there is no need to go out of state for the same caliber of player that is 45 miles down the road.

Someone put up Kelly's stats against that pocket passer we offered last week..

like it was explained before

they offer the OOS kids before camps to get them to come to camp

Kelly will get his offer once they see him at camp and he performs to his level

You are putting entirely too much stock in recruiting services and their rating system. The staff clearly values the skill sets of the other recruits more than some others, and they don't care that independent services have them "rated" equally. All things are not level.

So what if they commit on the spot? Then what?

They have greater ability to pull offers or tell the player to wait because they're out of state. Due to the proximity and relationships of him being from Louisiana, greater care is required so that you don't burn any bridges in-state.

I would move Russell to not mobile and add Mauck to mobile.

I'm sure they will do their due diligence to see if the kid has matured since he was 15

Understood, so the question remains, why offer the los guy before the in state guy when both are equal players.

well for starters, do you know they are equal players in the eyes of the coaches?

and it has already been explained to you that the OOS offers are to get them to camp

the coaches already know that Kelly is going to camp

Read the other responses. It has been explained to you. They are not equal just because 247 gives each one four stars.

I didn't say dual threat, I said mobile. Mobile means ability to escape the pocket and pick up first downs. Escape the pass rush, and make throws on the run. Mobile college players like Big Ben, Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Murray, Bryce Petty, Jameis Winston, Teddy Bridgewater, Jeremy Johnson, etc are what I was talking about with Russell.
