How is what they did vs what he is saying different in this case?

Do you read the shite he puts out there? The coaching staff at Auburn may have very well saw the writting on the wall, but Jeff Lee sees fit to paint this picture that Auburn passed on Drew.

Well, the kind of did. Drew said his mind was made up and told the Auburn coaches there's no point in coming, so they more or less took themselves out of contention.

Sounds to me like he took you out of the running,,,,, not the other way around. Maybe my lack of reading comprehension comes from my lack of an Alabama education?

If you want to take that as "they pulled his offer," go ahead, but that's not what he's saying. Our coaches wanted Drew and didn't get him, and by not visiting him have taken themselves out of the running for him.

That's believable. I was just reading on a MSU's website that they took themselves out of the bidding/running for Cam too.

Kinda like the Saints took themselves out of the running for the Super Bowl this year when they lost to the Seahawks.

Taking yourself out of the running for a recruit means you lost that recruit. They're done recruiting him because he told them I'm 100% not coming to Auburn.

Please explain to me how the hell that is spinning anything?

Bc "taking yourself" means a unilateral decision. If you can't see the difference btw "Ray Drew eliminated Auburn" and "auburn took itself out of contention" then u are to far gone to help

But really what's the point of having a huge announcement now, Auburn although I hated to admit it was really the second team for Drew, it's all UGA. I would flip though if the 1% chance happens and he pulls the trigger to LSU

I think it has more to do with the fact that coaching staffs don't always stop recruiting a kid once they tell them no.

After Drew said he wasn't coming to Auburn - i.e. Drew eliminating Auburn - the coaches stopped recruiting him. That's not always the case. At this point in the recruiting process our coaches threw in the towel. We wouldn't have Craig Sanders and Brent Calloway if they just threw in the towel every time a kid said he was commited to bama, or whoever.

I'm not trying to spin this as a win for Auburn.
