NSD is the only day people should get really excited...and the real BOOMs should only go off when the LOI is confirmed faxed in

For me it changed my perception of how much those "in the know" i.e. the recruiting gurus, actually have no clue

Yeah I cancelled my 247 subscription after that.

One thing that following recruiting does do is give me a leg up on daily fantasy college football. I was on Duke Williams and Royce Freeman before most people playing, and that's because I knew who they were from recruiting.

Landon Collins did it for me. He acted like such a punk.

I'm not paying nearly as much attention. I ignore media coverage, and this board is way down the list of boards I check on TD. I come in here every couple of days instead of several times a day like some of the other boards.

my interest in recruiting had waned well before that day.

Dre Kirpatrick started my dislike of it. Landon Collins and his continuing antics killed it off. I just check now when LSU gets a new commit.

After 5 for 5 I told myself I wouldn't follow at all. That didn't happen but I don't believe anything anyone says anymore. If we get em great. If we don't ok too. Have learned that I don't know how to evaluate talent and stars really mean nothing. Our coaches know how and that's good enough by me.

After 5 for 5 I don't pay attention to recruiting until January. And I don't believe ANYTHING the recruiting experts say. God bless 'em, but they are FOS.

No impact on mine. Have always waited for the fax to come in.

Social media changed it for me years ago. Twitter, Instagram etc...

The troll jobs were probably stronger than ever last year.

You either got caught up in it or you knew the possibilities.

Not at all, every team has its surprises. Every season is different. You just can't take it so serious.

That's shite Dre pulled was such preschool crap. He barely spoke English. "Dis hat right huh, ain't got no sweatuh".
I still follow it pretty heavily. It's the same as the games. I have no control but it's fun. Been following it since '93. It's in my blood. Don't get as upset over losing guys like I used to. The hats on the table/televised commitments has turned it into a mockery. You can thank Jamie Newberg and Countdown to Signing Day for that.

it was only my first full year of flowing recruiting. The 5for5 was a huge let down, but it allowed me to become more cautiously optimistic with recruiting commitments. Glad I got that in my first year of following. It's my second favorite thing in football now besides watching college football.

In case anybody was wondering, my third favorite is fantasy football.

But that day definitely made me learn to take the predictions and crystal balls with a grain of salt.

Well, that's the point- no one but the kid in question knows where he is going, and more and more of them seem to enjoy their 15 minutes of fame/drama/betrayal, etc.
But that being said, we all enjoy the news when someone commits and ultimately signs with the Tigers!
