Question...

How do we typically do in the hiuston area?

How many kids do we usually get?

I know Shep, Addai Loston. Has it dropped off that much.

At any rate here are the recruits LSU has got out of the Houston area in recent years.

Eric Monroe - 2016
Toby Weathersby - 2015
Tony Upchurch - 2014
Danielle Hunter - 2012
Corey Thompson - 2012
Trevon Randle - 2011
Luke Muncie - 2010
Russell Shepard - 2009
Craig Loston - 2009
Michael Brockers - 2009
Kellen Theriot - 2009
Jarvis Jones - 2007

Looking at the numbers they have signed 37 folks out of Texas high schools since 2007. Of those 37 32% have been from the Houston area. So no recruiting hasn't dropped off in that city. LSU essentially signs one person from the Houston area each recruiting class maybe more in some years. Recruiting Houston essentially makes up 1/3 of the signed players from Texas each cycle when viewed from a aggregate perspective.

Monroe this year, Weathersby last year. Jamal Adams is from Beaumont, so I guess none from 2014, except for Tony Upchurch. We usually average at least one 4 star land per class.

J. Adams is from Carrollton Hebron (DFW area).

Jalen Mills is from DeSoto, Ed Paris is from Mansfield.

HOU recruiting is important, but N. Texas produces as much D1 talent as any part of Texas.

With all the TX kids going to LSU now, they will continue to recruit the entire state.

A threat to Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Baylor before they hurt us directly. I think Tom Herman and Houston will surprise some people, hell eventually they may even end up in the BIG 12.

I hear they are the favourite to land Kyle Allen.

I laughed when Oliver said he though Houston was on the verge of being a title contender this summer. Not so funny anymore.

I agree, Houston will be a future Big 12 team; Houston area market/tv deal will be worth a ton
