You're expecting 10/8 after a 3pt 2reb season?
Posted on 6/20/17 at 7:36 pm to Lester Earl
Idk about 10/8 but it's not hard to think he can have a big jump in his numbers. Just look at Victor.

He only played 10 minutes/gm this year. From the video I saw of him at Oregon, I could definitely see him getting 10/8. He's tall, athletic, aggressive, and shows touch around the rim.

From backup on a loaded final four team playing 10 minutes to starter on a team where he will get likely 30 plus minutes per game.
That doesn't seem like an outrageous thought.

Absolutely, expectations on this board are ridiculous and fan the fire of the clueless fans that come here for all of their knowledge.
Big expectations set up big let downs.
Make it to the tournament, from the dumpster fire we were to the tournament is an unrealistic expectation. Yes it would be awesome, but to start calling it as an expectation is stupid.

Well good for them. He'll play a lot for us.

It's really not all that heavy a lift.
He averaged 3.0 ppg and 2.8 rpg, in 9.8 minutes per game.
Play him 30 minutes a game instead of 10, and with the same production assuming no foul trouble you're looking at 9 points and 8.4 boards a game.
That's if he doesn't develop his offensive game much in the off-year, which one would suspect he would.

Is this guy another Darcy Malone though?
J Jones had some decent players on his team. He just couldn't coach worth a shite, if you as a player is not receiving quality coaching, you won't play well at all. That what's his name(I'm mumbled mouthed this morning) Duop Reath kid was is I should say a quality player, but a quality coach would make him even better.

is wade done shifting the roster for this season?
Posted on 6/21/17 at 1:47 pm to BilJ
Could be one more move but if this is it he's already crushed it.
Posted on 6/21/17 at 1:48 pm to macaoidh
Woof if he has to play 30mpg. I think you're looking at 20-24mpg
Posted on 6/21/17 at 2:22 pm to Lester Earl
There is no way to tell what minutes he will actually have, he does have a full year to get in the best shape he possibly can since he won't be able to play in games. Anyone stating his minutes now is pure speculation and opinion.

Well, you have to figure they're looking at him as a starter.
Wade typically uses a 3-man post rotation. At VCU last year, Justin Tillman and Mo Allie-Cox both averaged 26 minutes a game, with Ahmed Hamdy-Mohammed averaging another 13.
Depending on what we get in this coming recruiting class, and depending on Kiir's development, you may have to get 30 minutes a game out of Bigby-Williams. He's a senior among sophomores and freshman in the post. I would expect him to be a mainstay.
Now, if he fouls a lot and has to come out as a result, then yeah - he might be more of a 25 minute a game guy. Or if Kiir is fantastic and we come up with an impact recruit, fine.
But I don't see any reason to think (1) this guy as a senior wouldn't be counted on for pretty close to 30 minutes a game and (2) that he couldn't ratchet his numbers up to 10 and 8 with a year of getting coached by this staff.

The trickiest thing about transfers-- and xfer bigs in particular-- is you've got to find a way to not only maintain but progress as far as the things you do well, and the things you need to improve on. Hopefully he keeps that energy level and can make those impact plays around the rim, while developing in his weaker spots.
He's gotta make the most of sitting out and not regress like a malcolm white. Hell even Garrett Green became a serviceable role player when he transferred from here to SDSU, but LSU probably hopes to get more than just that out of KBW. The talent is there though, he's got some nice skills. Considering he's grown up in England he's not quite on the same developmental arc as guys his age but he can turn that into plus upside. Wade and this staff seem to thrive at working with guys that need just a little fine tuning here and there.

Oregon-UCLA replay on ESPNU if anyone interested.
Disregard, I pulled the box score and appears KB-W didn't play.
