Obviously the LSU coaches do a good job with recruiting, but why not do it better if you have the resources? Mirror what bama does.
That's up to the Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator to see that it gets done better. FW may be a great individual recruiter, but I don't think he's tapped into all available resources as he should be as the RC. LSU needs to actively step it up.

Plans are being developed to address this.

We spent something around 350k in 2012 on recruiting.

What happened after 2009? We were third in the conference and now we're spending less - a little more than half what we did just 4 years ago (and we're now way behind the big spenders)?

Bama is chasing Tennessee at this point. And I want to point out that throwing money at the problem does not guarantee success (take the aforementioned Volunteers) - however, I think $1 million should be a goal and if we need a separate TAF project to do it - how do we go about it? I give $100 to TAF every year ( ) - if they had a fund earmarked for the recruiting budget, I could be convinced to kick in $25 to $50 for that and I'm dead broke.

Let's do this - who's with me?

Honestly if we got the guys from Monroe, no one would question recruiting budgets etc. We missed on guys who aren't far away and our OOS recruiting has been fine.

You are spot on. Agree completely.

We are behind the times with this stuff and need some more recruiting people.

In line with what you are saying, I'm hoping we can open up more of a piple line to the Midwest, California, and FL, as we have started to bring in more talent from those states and areas. Money will be needed for that.
