Our pass rush has definitely diminished with the lighter DE's

But Sabans defenses often struggle against spread teams. It's fortunate for Bama that they don't play many every year. I'll tell you what, in 2011 LSUs defense was way more tested and versatile than Bama's. LSU that year had to cope with high power offenses that Bama didn't play.

And in 2011 we had Brockers and Logan who were mammoths. No one ever ran on them.

Yep. I think every team wants size and strength at DT. At DE there has to be at least some size, but there is a place for speed rushers too. It really depends on the type of offense the defense is facing.
