Judging DTs by tackles alone would be like judging QBs by strictly their rushing yards and nothing else.

LSU's DL must be in bad shape.

Paez is the definition of a JAG.

It is.

Will never understand why they waited this long to address it.

Maybe this guy works out but lsu should do better than this

They wanted to retain maason and Mekhi. Had fat nil deals ready for both but ultimately the plan failed now they’re playing catch up

Lackluster production but we definitely need depth on the DL. We need playmakers most of all, but I depth like this guy will help as well.

This guy could have a Breiden Fehoko type impact on the DL. Experienced player, used to physical OL play coming from the Big 10, been coached up by elite defensive coaches. We’re in no position to turn our noses up at anyone at this point.

PFF graded out Paez slightly better the Maason last year, FWIW. Different players and different situations, but one data point.

Pete Jenkins was interviewed and said that the reason
Mason Smith was leaving was because in his 3 years at LSU
he had 3 or 4 different coaches.Because of illness or a bad
DC choice the position has been a cluster. There has been
no stability on the DL.Its hard to recruit with so much
change.

I agree. Not saying I blame Maason or Mekhi for going pro. They made the decision they felt was best for them, and I hope they're both successful at the next level.

But we have stability now, so moving forward, we'll be in a much better position.

Looks like a guy who can come in and eat up some snaps while our starters rest.
Not ever move is designed to make TigerFan0225 say "WOW!"

4 pages now and notastargazer hasn't chimed in.

I'm not sure what to think without his official stamp of approval.

Watched some film of him (Thanks Carter)has good potential with the right coach working on his technique. Hes got a lot of strength and with Bo as his coach he will get better than he was.

Paez was on scone show yesterday. Scone asked a question about why he picked LSU and what the conversation with Bo Davis went like.

Paez said something along the lines of, " I don't want to talk bad about my future teammates but I see an opportunity to see the field."

That’s not talking bad, they literally have a walk on running 2nd team at DT

It is a bit concerning that a 6th year guy wasn’t the starter at DT at fricking wisky

I listened, he was much more respectful than how you framed it.

Came across as a solid young man.

He specifically mentioned several times that he felt like he was playing out of position and in the wrong front at Wisconsin.

He’s spot on, unfortunately. I like Guillory and have hopes for Shone, but outside of that we’re hurting at DT. Maybe Dom will step up early.

Well yeah, we have almost no one at the position. That selling point should be attractive for a lot of guys hitting the portal after spring.

They had a much better defense than we did last year.
