not a saban bashing, but this just seems to play out really well for him, they are still going to have to try to fit 10 or so more scholarships somewhere, but this helps

His stock wasn't going to go any higher next year and his o-line is uncertain for next year also...

I'm sure that the rookie salary cap that is coming into play next year had nothing to do with his decision. Good luck to him.

Rookie cap has nothing to do with midrounders.

Saban is not going to have the same success as he did at LSU, I don't care how much people worship him...aint happening for numerous reasons. the biggest reason is

The monster he help build, is just getting stronger

Chances to earn Hardware comes thru BR, every year!

I disagree...if he lost the starting spot to anyone, it would be Mark Ingram. He came on strong in just his freshman year.

Ingram is great... but Richardson is a fricking freak of nature. Seriously. He's the Julio Jones of running backs.

I hope he looks much better than he did against AA competition

It has nothing to do with leaving because of Saban, if anybody loves Saban its him and Andre for that matter.

Andre may well be the number 1 overall pick, why not leave?

And Coffee's talent alone isn't going to increase his stock any next year. We had a great year, he was one of the conference's leading rushers, and there's the threat that Trent Richardson was only going to take even more of his carries. And yeah, 2 All American's leaving the O line doesn't help his outlook of having better stats. But I don't know why some of you genius' get too happy pretending that Coffee "knows" the O line won't be good. No body knows exactly our good our line will be.

But aside from Trent and the new line, I think the major reason he's leaving is because the more talented Mark Ingram may well push him as a starter period and you know Saban starts the best possibly player.

He got the ball like 3-4 times in an offense that was more concerned with showing off the arm of Barkley. Neither team had run blocking worth a damn and the play calls didn't help either.

so you think TR is going to steal carries from a guy who is entering the draft eh?

TR better learn to run much harder, the AA game showed me he his easy to bring down

Yes. Had Roy Upchurch been healthy the final 5 games, Glen would've had less carries. That's not to say he wasn't the best RB on the team, b/c he was, but he would've had to be on the field as much. Terry Grant is leaving and Roy is still a big question mark as far as playing in 09,so it's very likely TR would've taken a share of Glen's carries. He's not going to come in and redshirt, and I doubt he would no matter anywhere else.

Again, he got 3, maybe 4 carries. The o-line on both teams had pathetic run blocking. It's kind of hard to go anywhere when you have 2-3 DL on you as soon as you get the ball.

And FWIW, Trent was still the #1 RB on LSU's board, even with the very talented Michael Ford committed. Obviously, your coaches think he's the best RB.

TR is considered a great talent, I just find it hard to believe he will come in and take carries away from a Senior, and a great RB in Ingram.
