Not Akers.

However my FSU friend says the two RBs who came in with Akers are extremely discontent. One if not both will transfer.

Laborn is a 5'11" 220lb 5* who was #29 overall last year. The coaches wanted to create "separation" between him and Akers so they they are redshirting him. Hasn't played once this year and he feels like it was a unfair competition according to friend. Search his last name on twitter and FSU fans talk about him transferring.

The other was no slouch either. I saw him in person. Had like 200yds against my alma mater. White is a little bigger and has crazy good high lights. Would have been a 5* but was suspended a year for his team getting in a brawl. (he threw first punch) Still talented though. He isn't even traveling with team and is also being redshirted.

Wonder why these RBs are so surprised. Same thing happened to Bama that one year they signed Henry. Signed 3 other elite RBs. What happened? One in prison, one dead, and the other transferred out?

Anything something to watch for if they ask for release and we need a talented RB bad. They will have to sit out a year though.

I was a huge fan of Laborn. Would happily take and would get significant touches in 2019

Laborn is a stud but it kinda sucks for him if he transferred because he would sit out another year after redshirting.

Do they still have to sit out a year if they redshirted? Seems like they just sat out a year.

Yes he would be a redshirt sophomore before he could play.

Did you seriously just ask this?

Wow... just wow.

Think about WHERE they sat out a year. Then you can go sit in the corner with the dunce hat.

ATTN NCAA:
NEW BUGBEAR RULE: a redshirted player can transfer anywhere he likes because he already sat out a year. CLASSIC.

Yes I did. I didn't think they could, but it just seemed kinda crappy that someone that ends up going into a bad situation has to sit out for 2 years.

Thank you for being condescending though. I don't get much of that.

NCAA doesn't care about snaps or playing time really... just 'years of eligibility'.

In short, redshirting saves a year of eligibility but the NCAA requires the sacrifice of a year of eligibility for transferring (unless graduated).

So in actuality, redshirting and transferring are at cross-purposes instead of being parallels like you may have been thinking.

Why not sign both, if possible (both the FSU transfer and the uAL/JUCO RB.)

I like the transfer guys - you tend to know better what you are getting, unless they are castaways/rejects of course, processed out.

The uAL/JUCO guy sounds good, if we miss on Joiner or someone as good or better, like uTX commit, Keaontay Ingram or FSU commit Jashaun Corbin.

Somebody ought to point out to Zamir White what has happened at FSU this year with all their same class Top10 RB signees. He may be looking around again now anyway. He should if he is half smart, anyway.

Just get the JUCO transfer that use to be at Bama. By the time they are able to play, we'll have 2 more highly capable freshman plus Curry, Emmons (if he comes here), and Helaire.
