I just want to comment, I am still shocked at our lack of depth. This is a several year process to get this low on players and makes me wonder if the past staff apart from CR did recruit at all.

it's been stated ad nauseam that Brick and Chavis didn't recruit much at all. And they developed players even less.

Brick seemingly got some decent star talent but a lot of them haven't developed (Herron, Gilmore; namely) as well as others being kicked off (Valentine, LMFAO). That pretty much sums up the lack of depth behind Lacouture and Godchaux outside of Thomas never being healthy either.

Chavis didn't lift a finger in recruiting and it really shows at LB, I'm not sure who got the guys we do have there but I bet Chavis had very little to do with it. Steele and Coach O have eben a huge breath of fresh air. I think we take 6 DL and 5 LB this cycle.

We took 2 DL (no DT) and 0 LB in 2015 class (and coach O/Steele ahd to get 1 of those guys)....STILL blows my mind with how thin we are at those spots how that happened.

Man Reshaun Smith just decommited from Clemson and has an official visit with LSU in October. This could solve our ILB problem. We could pretty easily convince him that he'll get tons of play time and likely start at some point as a true freshman.

Would be huge.

Setting up that IMG pipeline

He lost the nickname freak, such a disappointment. Seems like a really nice guy though

Hell Stud couldn't reel in a recruit to save his life and look how stacked the offensive line is right now. This is just unacceptable.

When Oregeron was hired, Frank Wilson made some interesting comments that seemed to suggest a general sense of unhappiness with the recruiting strategy or lack thereof on the defensive side of the ball. That's being fixed with a quickness.

You remember the comments?

I remember the comments he made regarding the lack of an overall organized strategy; he said that organization was a skill Steele was known for and that it was badly needed at LSU.

We need to give some props to Peveto; he is working his arse off.

With 7 to 9 spots left depending on availability,LSU could possibly finish with 4 to 5 Dlinemen and 2 or 3 LBers.

Something to the effect of: 'we needed somebody to organize our board and Ed's going to do just that'

that's a rough paraphrase but it suggested that some on the staff felt there was no cohesive strategy/organization for defensive recruiting

Early exit to NFL + Chavis No Recruiting + Brick No Nothing = lack of depth

WHAT'S COMING
First 8 on DL coming back for 2016...
Top DL Recruit Class for 2016...
Top LB Recruit Class for 2016
O + Steele on Recruiting Trail...

But still very concerned about Steele's X + O in 2015.
