What happened to our class on ESPN's rankings? I must have missed it, but considering the fact we tied the record for most Top 300 kids it is hard to imagine how we were passed.

ETA: I'm not really worried about it by any means, but the last time I looked yesterday we were #1 and now were #3. Just curious.

IDGAF about what those services say. We will have the talent to run for a NC next year. That is....if our coaches can get it done.

This is the correct answer.

They didn't play football at all either. Rivals has vast majority of subscribers from bama. They adjusted the numbers as we would have potentially been top class which they can not have happen for fanancial reasons. We lost out on Mullen and had mommas boy decommit so it would not have matter but that caused us to rank lower.

Rivals definitely cooking the books. Whatever. How many programs in the country would love to have that problem. We are in beast mode, and I don't care who says different. We are LSU!

They are all worthless. I'm still waiting for a website or organization to step up and have honest ratings and not change their entire rankings at 4pm on National Signing Day based on crap like "human factor".

It really doesn't matter at the end of the day.
Their opinion really means nothing, and coaches pay little or no attention to what they think in their evaluation process.

For LSU fans wondering why LSU finished behind Bama in ESPN's rankings. Total top 50 ESPN recruits signed would be my guess. This is the only thing I could see that would've put Bama ahead. Hope that helps.

Bama's top 50 ESPN recruits
#24 Grade 87
#25 Grade 87
#33 Grade 86
#34 Grade 86
#36 Grade 86
#40 Grade 86
#47 Grade 85

LSU's top 50 ESPN recruits
#12 Grade 89
#16 Grade 88
#27 Grade 87
#31 Grade 86

I know it looks like sour grapes from an outsider prospective, but you don't see things from where we do.

On 247 Hulk Jones moved up over 100 spots days before signing day.......When asked about it Barton Simmons responded that it's "Bamas System" that caused the massive bump....... The problem with this is we are told these rankings are not based on "Future" performances.

247 also just put out a piece saying Ohio St. signed the best D-Line class........Go look at who they signed vs. LSU and tell me what you think. LSU signed 3 more, the top 3 ranked higher than OSUs Top 3, but the fact that LSU signed a few lower ranked D-Lineman brought the average down.

The whole system is whack, numbers are twisted to fit agendas, your blind if you don't see it.

Great stuff crumble. When you look at it from a pure stat point of view, it doesn't make sense.

247 composite should drop rivals for lack of institutional control.

That abomination of a service just throws a wrench into the whole thing

You stopped at 50. If I stopped at 20 LSU would be up 2-0. If I stopped at 100 lsu also leads by 1, stop at top 300 LSU leads by 3.

If we had signed the same amount of top 300 players I would see your point, y'all have a few more in the 20-50 range.
We have more from 0-20, and 50-100, including 1 more overall in the top entire 100, and 3 more in the top 300

"Mr. squirrelybama, what you've just posted is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational post. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you no upvote, and may God have mercy on your soul."
