66 tackles with 20 for a loss. 9 QB hurries, 2 forced fumbles and an INT.

66 tackles is great for any Defensive Tackle but it's amazing for a sophomore.

2016 Sophomore Highlights

I don't really know. I know there are a few in the video but the best looking one may have been a designed QB run.

Where are you getting the stats from? They should have sacks, thats usually tallied more than qb hurries, arguably the most important stat of a defensive lineman.

The kid can play.. Very disruptive and quick.

IT IS A DAMN shame he tore his ACL there at the end of the season against Zachary.

From what my brother has shared with me about ACL injuries for kids his age is this: the more they are learning the more they realize that any young man still developing needs no less than 9 months away and up to 12 months before return.

He said that the multiple ACL injuries we are seeing with kids rushing back--even after great rehab--is because of not allowing the ligaments that were torn to "catch up" with the other ACL tendon in the other leg; as they (ACL) develop like bones do until puberty is finished (which can be lengthy depending on subject).

My hope is that they don't rush him back and allow him time to fully heal so he can play for a scholarship in 2 years. Kid has a lot of promise.

No not really. Maybe for a Defensive End but not for a Defensive Tackle.

I understand the reason for the question but I do not have the answer. I edited the video for them and only have the stats I was given. Maybe he did not have many. Because a defensive tackle's job is to stop the run, take on blockers to free up the line backers and put pressure straight up the middle.

No. He's bigger than Chucky. At least he seems that way to me. Reminds me more of Blackwell.

It appears West Monroe will have a great defensive line for the next two years. They lost a lot with the graduation of Dennis Collins and Deangelo Patrick at the defensive ends but with Andrew Gleason and Swanner returning for their junior years, they are now joined by Dalvin Hutchinson who just moved to West Monroe and they are set to dominate.

WM has several solid options to fill the other end spot in Juniors to be Preston Crane and Myron Miles (incredible athlete who has to get his act together) both at 6'2" and 205 lbs and Sophomore to be Malcolm Moore.

Gleason is 6'3" and 235. He has an incredible first step with good speed, quickness, and strength. Sorry no film available at this time. Hutchinson is 6'2" plus and around 310. Here are his sophomore highlights from his sophomore year at Wossman. Dalvin Hutchinson.

You will probably see four juniors starting next year with all four being potential college recruits. It will be interesting to see them develop and if LSU ever has any interest in any of them.

Is Dean Smith still at Wossman?

I knew he was looking to leave. If he truly wanted to leave I see why Hutchinson left.

West Monroe stacked as freak on the defensive line like no time in their history now. 5-A freaked; offenses freaked. Can't wait to see it.

It looks like Smith is still there, have not heard if he wants to leave.

I know you are a huge fan of the freshman Moore. He did well today with 7 reps of 250 in the power clean. No other freshman had more than two reps.

JB Gullatt did 15 reps today.

Dean put in at Natchitoches Central, but didn't get the job I believe.

For some reason I am not real sure about, Dean is not wanted at Wossman anymore. I have this on excellent faith from someone I trust and knows people close to the situation.

So, I knew Hutchinson would leave, but didn't know if it was because Dean would stay or leave. He gone though. Good, he will become a top tier prospect at West Monroe.

There honestly isn't a better year I can think of at West Monroe with the amount of talent they will have on the defensive front since Jerome King and Shawn King were out there. That 1998 bunch had West and Tarver, but this line has 4 legitimate future SEC caliber players.

I know Moore is going to see the field somewhere. Maybe linebacker. Can't keep him off the field. Just can't. Maybe fullback/tailback. Somewhere.

I have been watching Hutchinson when I saw him as an 8th grader playing linebacker, defensive tackle, and fullback at Lee when playing Good Hope. Do you know how coachable he is?

No, I have no idea.

I could ask and find out tomorrow, but him leaving to West Monroe is like a player leaving the Jaguars to the Patriots--they adjust and become coachable or they leave/bust.

JJ hinted that Bolden would play running back. Why? Get Moore acclimated to the position if he isn't going to start on defense. Make him an offensive player. The dude would be a SICK running back. Damn why haven't we though of this before today?

Just joking, but with lack of depth that would be a logical choice, wouldn't it? 6' around 220 by next year?

He would probably make a great running back but I agree with you about having him on the field, defensive side that is. Linebacker may be a possibility. Even if he doesn't start on the line he will be in the rotation. I am impressed with his power clean today, he is strong.
