good for him. didn't seem like we made a huge push for the kid when BeBe get here so lets hope some of these DE targets get tied down to us soon!

Can't be upset about that. Anyone serious about their future should hop on a Stanford offer. Congrats to the young man.

Hard to judge everything about a guy from video where the opponents are unknown, but one thing for sure. DJ isn't remotely fast enough to be a DE...DT maybe...Maybe OT as you mentioned but he simply doesn't close fast enough on RBs and QBs in the videos to be a DE.

Great accomplishment for Dylan Jackson to get a free ride to an elite academic institution like Stanford.

I think it was pretty obvious that LSU had also. The TN DE at least the old defensive staff wanted was clearly Kyle Phillips. Of course, Phillips committed and enrolled at TN before Orgeron and Steele were hired....so we will probably never know if they wanted Phillips.

I have no idea because most assistant coaches aren't stargazers like some fans are. For sure, DE is a position of need in this class.

Except we really do have an idea, considering every school in the country wanted him. Look at his offer list.

Offer list.

If I had an offer from LSU and an offer from Stanford, I'd probably go to Stanford too.

Sooooo, you're saying that Anthony Johnson panned out right? He was much higher ranked numerically than Kyle Phillips.

Plus to make another point, I have seen several guys with offer sheets like that, LSU was listed as a school of interest, no offer from LSU.

Yeah, they just wasted all that time recruiting that guy they didn't want

The only reason they were entertaining a package deal (Amadi, Phillips, and I believe one more), was to get Phillips.

Yep, that was UT's sales pitch, and he wasn't having it. Ultimately, that's what lead to the two sides mutually parting ways.
