Why did LSU not recruit him. I remember him single handedly winning the state champ game in 07 against Westlake. He just caught game sealing TD against ND for Michigan. He was a 3* I believe was a great athlete for Parkview.

Not that he hasn't gotten on the field for them but I'm still trying to figure out why Michigan offered.

How these statements are made for some LA kids and then how other low rated kids are justified is hilarious. Keep on.

5'8" and just not LSU quality at receiver or running back which he played at Parkview. Nice kid and I hope he has a great senior year.

If he can catch passes at Michigan then he could catch passes at LSU.

You people are idiots. Michigan is WAY more of a traditional powerhouse than LSU. Truth hurts.

There is a difference between traditional powerhouse and a current powerhouse and right now Michigan isn't a current powerhouse. Are they building that program bak up, yes but they aren't there yet. One of the reasons they aren't their yet is because they lack the play makers at WR. If you want proof then go back and watch them play Bama last year. Give them 1-2 more seasons and they will probably be back but they aren't their yet by any means.

Truth hurts

There's definitely guys we dont offer that get away and have really good careers. Drew Dileo is not one of those guys that really make you go "Damn, we should have offered him!"

Dileo as a junior had 20 catches for 331 yards and 2 TD. He has 5 catches for 61 yards and a TD this season.

So with a really good QB, he's still been basically a 3rd option at Michigan, which doesnt have the WR talent we have. It's not like he would be having 1000 yard seasons here. Probably not even close to 500 yard seasons. OBJr and Landry are worlds better and not sure Dileo could even beat out Boone, Dural or Diarse.

He was recruited to Michigan by Rich Rod. There was an article in the advocate a few years ago about his recruitment.

I used to work with Drew's dad years ago and they are great people. Dad is a Tiger alum and I am sure it was a bummer that Drew was not offered by the hometown team.

Based upon what I've seen of Michigan games I am not convinced Drew would have been a consistent 1st, 2nd or even a 3rd option in the Tigers offense.

Getting an offer to play at a school of Michigan's academic and football stature isn't exactly a bad thing. I would not be disappointed in these circumstances.

When I say he did it single handedly I mean it as he was the only player that hurt Westlake in that game. He is the one that caught the double reverse pass fumbled it and still picked it back up.

Threads like this are unnecessary. We're fine with the receivers we have.

Would Dileo be in LSU's top 3 at WR? The long answer is "no".

Drew is a great player from a great family. He has had a great, productive career at UM and is also a great student.

He got offered by UM and made a great choice.

In '07 there were only two teams that could physically compete with Parkview in AAA. Westlake and Redemptorist. Westlake was very good and physically was able to neutralize Parkview's very good offensive line. Drew was the difference in the game, but it was two good teams slugging it out in a great football game.

Either team could have won the game, Parkview knows how to win. This week excepted. Congrats to Catholic High, they have a great team this year.

Drew is a good friend and even if LSU would have offered him he most likely would not have gone. He is a lifetime Michigan fan and has wanted to play for them since he was younger. Would have been tough for LSU to pull him away from Michigan. Wish him the best in his senior year.
