It's Colt McCoy's younger brother, Case, who a QB at Texas too.

From this FARK thread a few years ago.

It's a classic and I definitely recommend checking it out if you're bored at work.

It's hard to say when there's 3 qb's already on campus and already are at their playing weight he has work to do unless he's just one of those guys that comes around every 10 years

A chance yeah about 5% if LSU is in the hunt.

I dont understand this Etling hate. The guy played pretty well last year. LSU had some big offensive production games with him. Are we giving O and Ensminger all the credit?

He took very few first team snaps until week 4 of the season and kept us in every game. That drive against a very good Auburn defense on the road was pretty impressive, same with Florida.

I don't think he can for our opener, but he definitely can by week 6 or 8...

If he's as good as advertised and our current QB play isn't up to par.

The season would need to be heading downhill for that to happen, IMO.

Etling will start game 1 - wouldn't surprise me to see another situation where if etling plays poorly, Brennan will see some time. Depends on how quickly he picks up the offense

First, doubt he will play possible red shirt, but he most certainly can gain 15-17 lbs in a few months with the right diet and training. It may be tough but possible between now and September

Let me just say this. Brennan has played in a very high tempo, no huddle, complex, 5 wide, wide open offense for 4 years. He has had to make pre-snap coverage reads, adjust his protection and audible to get his receivers in a better postion to beat the defensive set. So believe me when I say going to a pro style offense where you call the play in a huddle and then line up to see what the defense is going to do will be like playing in slow motion for him. I am not saying the defense will look like slow motion I am saying the tempo and pre-snap reads will seem like slow motion to him. Plus he has never worn a play bracelet in his life. He knows and understands each postion's responsibility on the field on every play and what adjustment calls to make based on the play called in from his OC. I promise mentally he will master this offense quickly. His perceived weight issue will take care of itself but if he is 200+pounds come August he will be on the bus...

High tempo, no huddle doesn't mean it's more complex. Most spread offenses are less complex than pro-styles. They are 1 read offenses.

Also Canada runs a lot of high tempo, no huddle.

This.

Unless he's taking roids and joining competitive eating competitions.

He is a PERFECT redshirt candidate. Its been so long since we've had a few solid QB prospects and been allowed to redshirt the best one to let him develop properly.

If brandon harris started as a freshman pretty much anything is possible...anything. I'm sure brennan is better prepared than harris was. Sure he has a shot.

I do not care what he weighs. If he is fabulous, he will play.

here's how it works. You can tell him for me.

Etling is pretty good. he is not a world beater though. So if he is bumbling along not really lighting it on fire and bangs up a knee, Brennan may get the call over the rest of them, down 2 to Florida with 12 minutes to go.

I'm going to just guess the answer to your question is no.

I do know if Brennan approaches this and every season in how he prepares/practices as if he is the presumed starter, he'll be just fine.

If he had the weight I'd say sure, but then again, I don't know how hard Canada would be stuck on Etling because he is an experienced senior.

The SEC saw 5 true freshman QBs start 3+ games last year for various reasons with varying degrees of success. Hopefully one of the true freshmen or Scott can get a chance to play this year.

I see Lowell having a better shot than Brennan this season. He was an EE and is more physically ready. His knees are healthy but he's got alot to learn. I bet he's gonna be a star qb soon.

Combine Linebacker Results LINK

Amazed that Biegel and TJ Watt had vertical leaps of 33.5" and 37".

So that's why they beat us.

I'd like to see what Narcisse can do with a few specifically designed packages for him. He's a gifted runner and it'd be one more thing the defense would have to worry about.
