I don't think Hootie moves to backer. He'll be another Chad Jones type. Big physical hard hitting safety.
+1
If we wouldn't have had the LB haul from last year and the year before, I would say that him moving down would be a maybe. But we have more than adequate depth at LB and not nearly as deep at S

Agree with this as well. Of all the things I like about Chavis, the number one thing very well may be what he does w/tweeners, or anyone for that matter, that has the skill set to play more than on position.
I've said this before, but I was not excited about his hire. I really thought he was the equivalent of a re-tread. I've probably never been more wrong.
That guy has quietly gone about getting the most of guys. His talent evaluation is apparently off the charts, I LOVED what he does as far as making adjustments. I've probably never seen as good of an adjustment made as his during the A and M game. Son, our defense looked like absolute whale dung for about 3 possessions in that game.
Then, he did what he do, as they say, and a and m looked awful after he did.

IMO, I wouldn't mind the move to LB. It did wonders for 5 star Shaq Thompson at Washington as a hybrid LB/S.
They were able to utilize a big playmaker safety at LB also, and is now one of the best in the league.
72 tackles, 2 PD, 2 sacks, 3 INTs as a true freshman.

If hootie plays like chad did ill be so happy. CJ3 is my fav tiger of the miles era. Shame about the wreck. He was a monster at LSU.

I went to the Nola Bowl for ULL this past season and met chad at the dome. I felt bad for Joe Adams after seeing this dude in person.

If Hootie somehow ends up at LSU(which I think is highly unlikely) he will play safety. The kid has great size and speed plus ball skills that are out of this world.

give a decent discussion then...shite.

I don't know what the frick y'all are smoking on. But hootie will be a safety. Ed will likely be a safety also. Tony will be a CB and Tre White will start opposite side of him then Kevin Tolliver III will take over when he's done. Some of you noobs are incredibly retarded. Voorhies will be a contributer his entire time here and be a one or 2 year starter. Rameriez will never start for us, bank on that.
ETA: did y'all forget were getting Garrett, Young and Alexander?

Can you predict tonight's lottery numbers as well?

What about Rashard Robinson and Dwayne Thomas

quote:I'm guessing Martin will stick around. He's likely to start this year, but I doubt he'll be off to the NFL.
After this year we can possibly only return eugene(who's never taken a snap at safety), sandolph(who probably will never start) thompson and jefferson

Eugene can play, theres no question about that. He's just a head case. I can see him at that nickel spot. Not enough discipline to play safety

I think Paris could start right now for us
Do I think he is a great talent yes, but starting right now is a little out there. I think he could contribute right now, but not start.

No counting the incoming class we only have one corner worth a shite. Mills. And he's no mo Claiborne or hb.

this.
paris is going to be great but it takes a lot of learning in a chavis defense

Mills does have the tools to become an All-American IMHO...
