In 2014 we were 2nd, 2013 6th, 2012 14th, 2011 8th, 2010 9th, 2009 1st. Average finish of the last 6 seasons is 6.67 in the nation. Pretty damn good.

And, if you look in the last 5 or so years out 3* players should have been ranked higher (Mo, Barrow, Logan, Blue, Turner, Magee, Mills, Dural, Debo, etc should have been higher than a 3*). We get a lot of players that aren't high profiled recruits for some reason (location, didn't go to camps, no media buzz, etc) but they are much better than advertised.

If we aren't too 5, it will be right around that 5-8 rank. And if you look at the guys already committed (KT, Guice, Teuhema, Brossette, Jazz, Lewis, Ducre, etc) with the guys still left on the board, we def could move into the top 5.

And if we aren't, I still expect the class to outperform it's national ranking like we have in the past and typically do.

I wonder how many coaches would have the same record as Saban if they had the same talent.

Lot's. Why don't they go get that talent. Because they can't, and he can. That's why he's great.

lil nicky is fortunate enough to land in the heart of talent (geographically) and at universities that all but love college football. he wasn't a dominant recruiter at Michigan state and he wouldn't be as good at iowa, Washington, or Kansas state. what he has is a very good combination of geography and money.

His reputation followed him to Bama from LSU.

LSU made Saban as much as Saban made LSU.

He has plenty faults.

They are saying this could be his best ever. Good god.

He'll sign a great class but I highly doubt it'll be his best ever. The last two classes were much better than this one IMO. The '08 class produced 5 first round picks. This will not be his best class ever.
