Do we end up signing more than 25?

I've heard it might be more than the usual 25. Possibly 26-28 kids because we've lost so many the past 2 seasons.

28 was the number that was mentioned earlier around the start of season.

I'm think 27-28 also. We need 2 more OLmen, Allen and somebody else. We need Haskins qb, still need another LB even though White could switch positions. That's 4 spots filled. 2DT Lawrence and Christmas hopefully. Then I guess 1-2 more dbs. Mullen and Cook the athlete we just offered.

Can't have more than 85 total. If the team is at the limit, then the incoming class is limited by the number leaving. Assuming there were 85 players on scholarship during the season, which 25 (26, 27, 28) are leaving?
So far, there is only one announced early-out to the NFL and one announced transfer. How many have used up their eligibility?

There may be another transfer and did you account for the graduating seniors?

Also have to think about other players transferring or leaving the program. We've had quite a few the past 2 years. Diarse is the most recent.

"How many have used up their eligibility?" includes any player that's participated for four years. Players can graduate without playing four years, and play four years without graduating.
I don't know how many have used up their eligibility, which is why I asked. But I don't think it's anywhere near 25, so there will have to be some more early-declares (probably White), transfers and maybe some others terminated.

The 85 will be managed. The how may upset the idealism of the naive, but it will be handled.
