LOL! And he went to JUCO why?

Because he didn't go to an accredited high school before he transferred and didn't have the credits.

Or so others have said.

Why do people attend unaccredited high schools? You certainly can't go to college under an athletic scholarship if the high school is unaccredited, and I doubt they work for normal college entrance requirements. The only reason is the kid has academic issues and wanted the back channel route to college football. Anyone who says otherwise is kidding himself.

There has got to be some people telling him that he jumped the gun. After 2-3 years of saying that LSU is your dream school and that you will be "there" soon. Now being in a position to finally make that happen, you are offered again, and you commit. Now to decommit a week later saying that you want to look at all options? That just does not make sense to me. If you want to experience the courting process, that is well within your rights and good to do. But to call something your dream and all of a sudden kick it to the curb a second after you get it is odd to me.

I do realize he could come back and end up in P&G, but this is crazy to me. During this 2 years of Juco, everyone knew how much he loved LSU. He knew his desire more than anyone. I know he may not have had the chance to see other schools, but he did hear peoples' suggestions. He did see football and highlights on TV. He got letters. Bottom line is, he has seen and heard things from all levels to be able to make a decision on football. So again, to do things this way makes me scratch my head.

I think his current coach got in his ear along with the other colleges. Remember just before he committed his coach eluded to Auburn taking a lead because LSU was not recruiting him as hard. I'd keep an eye open for job openings at Auburn and this JUCO coach being a potential or better yet, likely hire.

I think D'haquille realized he committed way to fast and would rather enjoy the recruiting process for a while. Ultimately he knows he will end up signing with LSU, but why not take all the free trips you can. No payments or shady coaches, just a kid who wants to enjoy the opportunity he missed out on 3 years ago.

Kid ain't a saint. He's "doing it", just like D Byrd and plenty of Juco guys every year.

He will get his shot, I'll put 500 bucks on the line he doesn't walk with a sheepskin before the draft no matter where he goes.

Deangelo Benton was hot garbage at Auburn, but Greg Robinson is all but a pile of shite. He is good and started as a freshman for crying out loud. The coaches love his ability.

Rabalais: No need to worry about D'haquille Williams

quote:

For their part, we hear LSU coaches are much less freaked out by Williams’ retraction than LSU football fans are. There is every expectation that Williams will make his football version of an Australian walkabout and eventually sign with LSU.

You have to give the guy his due, and it would be mighty selfish of LSU to cut him off. He's been through hell to get where he is now to be ready to sign and play at a big-time FBS school. He deserves to take it in for all the work he has put in. If LSU is truly where he fits best then it will happen, and if he looks around and still decides its LSU then he will have less doubt about his decision when he gets to LSU. This might even be more of a positive for LSU in the long run than if he had remained committed but started to wonder what else was out there towards the end of the recruiting process when the LSU coaches need to lock down on many top uncommitted prospects.

What would be ideal is if he would go out on his visits and recruit for us after talking with our staff about their prime targets.

He's also undefeated in Bowl Games, so it looks like he made the right choice for himself!
