Sorry I just realized I left my account open. I guess my 4 year old son made the comment. He has only seen him play a few times. I will tell him not to rush to judgment.

I'm confused now.... Just trying to clarify, but are you now saying you don't think he has character problems?

This kid is so stuck on himself! He is telling everybody around Springhill he is headed to Bama.

He wears a t-shirt around that says "I am Devin White"

Just for the record, I've always found Devin to be polite and respectful to me. Having said that, he's a 17 year old teenage boy. In my experience, even the best of that species are FAR from perfect. Is he enjoying being in the spotlight? I would think so, just like I would've done so had I had a similar opportunity when I was 17 y/o. I think a lot of this is just fun for him; that doesn't bother me. I could also care less if he wears a t-shir w/ his name on it. I'll continue to encourage him to go to LSU and NOT Bama, but none of this means anything until he signs his LOI. Coaches and teachers at NWHS will continue to try and keep him grounded, as will many of his teammates. I'm certainly not going to trash him on the' net for behaving no worse than most teens in a similar situation (and better than many). IF he ends up at Bama, I'll still support him as one of our locals, but I WILL poke fun at him when we beat BAMA.

Saban lets kids play the position they want to play. That's been his rule since he got to Bama. He'll tell a kid they have a better chance at playing time at the position he thinks is best for them, but he's never switched a kids position against their will at Alabama. Derrick Henry would be at linebacker otherwise, and BJ Scott would have been at cornerback from day one. Say what you want about Saban, but he lets kids play the position they want to play.

Opinion masquerading as fact.

Even if Saban said this to your face, he is a known liar.

I realize Saban is god in Alabama but the rest of the world views him as an anal control freak who could care less about anyone but himself

Actually, I didn't graduate from SHS, but I do have long standing ties to the 'Jacks.

I don't know about Saban at Bama, but I've read that Miles does the same thing. That way, if the ball player is not up to the standard w/ others at that position, it's the ball player himself who'll make the decision to move to a different position, making him more accountable.

Don't you still pump gas at the corner gas station in Springhill?

That hurts. I have a bad feeling about White to Bama. I don't think LSU is likely to pursue many rbs this year so why not just offer him to play rb. He and Slaughter would be a wrap at rb.
