Really? Downs is nothing special.

I hope he is better than Downs. Downs doesn't seem to be going all out every play. We rotate DL so much Freak will have a chance early to prove himself.

I'm torn over Trex at NB or CB. Not sure how they will use him but with Simon looking so good against the big receivers (Julio and #8 from A&M) I'd like to see him as the other corner. The way Trex tackles I have no problem with us playing a 4-2-5 with him as a NB/LB.

Definitely my favorite player on the team.

Mett starts, jj will be the wildcat qb. Ego and brockers prolly start at dt. Downs, Logan, and and freak are in the rotation. Davenport moves to oline.

And plays where?

I knew Davenport wasn't going to be as good as his hype. My friend from my school went 1 on 1 with him at a camp and said that he wasn't anything special.

Jernigan will also push for some PT next year. I do think downs starts though, he's not as bad as some think. When he came out of high school the big plus with his was his motor, so I'm thinking maybe the extra weight he's added might be tiring him during games.

If he improves his conditioning he'll be just fine.

Is it just me or does it seem Shep is kind of a waste of talent on the field. His route-running and hands are both suspect as a WR. And we dont work him into the running game very often. I cant believe he's on the field just about every play for his blocking skills.

I would much rather see Randle, Landry, and Boone out there...true wide receivers.

shep has turned out to have either bad hands or bad hand/eye coordination. He's not a WR. hand him the ball.

So be it.

Mathieu can do what he does best @ nickel, I dont think they will change his role too much.

I'd say

WR 1: R. Randle
WR 2: K. Boone/J. Wright/C. Tolliver/A. Williams
WR 3/Slot: R. Shepard/J. Landry/OBJ

quote:

TE1: Deangelo
TE2: Clement
TE3: Joseph

They used T. Edwards a lot in the bowl game. I'm thinking he gets moved up to the third spot at least.

LG1: Dworacyk
LG2: Branch
LG3: Williford

Williford split PT with T-Bob after Blackwell went out. Depending on how Blackwell returns, I see him being on the two deep at one of the spots.

LT1: Faulk
LT2: Washington

Don't ask me why, but I still think E. Washington gets moved to guard and competes with Dworacyk, Blackwell, Williford and T-Bob.

DT1: Downs
DT2: Davenport
DT3:

DT1: Brockers
DT2: Freak
DT3: Ego

I think this will be a huge toss up as to who starts here. I'd imagine that Brockers, Freak, Ego and Downs all have a shot at PT.

CB1: Claiborne

CB3: Ryan St. Julien

CB1: Tharold Simon
CB2: Calhoun
CB3:

Nickel1: Matheiu
Nickel2: OBJ
Nickel3:

I think OBJ is strickly a WR, but I think you are correct that Simon and Claiborne start with Matheiu coming in at the nickle and subbing in at CB occasionally.

What four CB's do y'all see if we go into the nickle? Claiborne, Simon, Matheiu and Brooks, or do we go with another Safety like Reid or Vinson?

quote:

FS1: Loston
FS2: Reid
FS3: Sam Gibson

I'm really hoping Loston and Reid get more PT this year.

Unpopular subject, but where is Karnell Hatcher?

Jarvis is light years ahead of Shep as a receiver. It's just a question of how we will use Shep next year. Landry needs to start in some capacity no matter what

I think Reid starts over Loston...

Side note: I think Loston is in the running with Shep for being the most overrated recruits on the team not named Davenport.

That is three 5 star recruits that have not come close to living up to their hype.

My fearless predictions.....

QB: Jefferson, Mettenberger (hopefully makes move to starter mid season if not sooner), Lee

WR: Randle, James Wright, OBJ
WR2: Boone, Fobbs, C toliver, Armand Williams
Slot: Shep, Jarvis

RB: Ridley (I think he leaves),Ware & Ford (split Carries as starters), Hilliard or Hill gets a crack at mop up work, the other red shirts along w mggee

FB: Worle/Stampley (split duties), Theriot

TE: Deangelo (passing situations), Clement (starts in blocking situations), Joseph, *Travis Dickson could push all those guys for time

RT: Hurst, La'El, Shaw, Nick Jacobs?
RG: Blackwell, T-Bob
C: Lonergan, T-Bob
LG: Dworacyk, Williford, Branch
LT: Faulk, Washington, Fordham?

DEFENSE

DE1: Adams, Mingo, Aghayere, *Rasco*Drew*Clowney
DT1: Downs, Ego, Davenport, Bennie Logan
DT2: Brockers, JC Copeland, Freak, *jernigan
DE2: Sam Montgomery, Lavar Edwards, Jordan Allen

WLB: Francois, Tahj Jones, Luke Muncie
MLB: Minter, DJ Welter, Maclin
SLB: Baker, Lamin Barrow, Maclin

*Insert Blue somewhere in there at LB, I think he get's moved, Also Trevon Randle or *CJ Johnson could see some action. And Josh Johns turning heads at LB???

SS: Brandon Taylor, Reid, Vinson
FS: Loston (i hope), Reid, Hatcher, Sam Gibson
CB1: Claiborne, Ron Brooks
CB2: Tharold Simon, Calhoun, Jenkins?
Nickel: Matheiu

Also given all the ATHs we've picked up this year it'll be very interesting to see what evolves and where they play. It seems CLM has gotten much better about playing the best man and between Turner, Eugene, Collins, Martin, or Lewis I could see one of them blowing up and becoming the next Trex in the secondary or one of the Chiefs patented small LBers, similar to an Ali Highsmith BALL HAWK.

KR/PR: Gore
I dont know anything about the kickers.

I really like Reid and I wouldn't be surprised to see him start over Loston, but I don't think he is overrated. He's still a good player.

My guess is we will still have a 4 man rotation. Im very interested to see who gets the most pt out of this group.

Oh and i hate to burst anyones bubble but all indications point to calhoun going back to GA for personal reasons.

He's a redshirt freshman and he gets playing time.
