Aranda has been worth every penny. I hope we are grooming him for HC.

quote:

Aranda didn't pressure Rice into a decision and his caring nature was what stood out to Rice, who will have an opportunity to come in and play early due to him enrolling early.

"I just loved Dave Aranda. I know you don't choose a school because of the coach, but he's a real honest guy and I like him. He's smart and real caring," Rice said. "He didn't recruit me any different, there was just never any pressure at all. He wanted me and stuck with his word."

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron got the stamp of approval from Rice too.

"I think he's a real energetic guy. He knows what he's doing. Just wanted to hop on board," Rice said.

So Dave waited at the airport for five hours until Monty Rice said, "okay, come on in and visit"?

Yeah, that tweet is confusing, not sure what happened or if that had anything to do with the decision. Either way, Aranda is the GOAT DC

No, he waited 5 hours in case Rice changed his mind and let him come visit. When he didn't, Aranda got back on a plane and came home. Rice told UGA, Aub and LSU not to come in on Sunday last minute. UGA and Aub coaches didn't react real great to the last minute change, Aranda just took it in stride. Rice felt most comfortable with Aranda, so he committed here.

Yeah, listening to Shea on Sports Today.

The auburn and georgia coaches freaked out when Rice said he didn't want a home visit. Aranda (after just landing to meet with Rice) said, "no problem, I'll be here if you need me". He then waited for 5 hours at the airport, watched film, then left.
