I hope we get him. From what I've read he's a good player. Plus, maybe people will stop with of the doomsday talk.

Wasn't this kid going to A&M this weekend on an official? Anyone know if he went?

This is the remaining recruit that I'd like to join our squad.

I want Patterson more because we need a big WR and he can contribute next year. Thompson won't be a factor for 2-3 years and it is a lot easier for us to get another safety if we miss than a big WR. I want them both but Patterson more.

He went to TAMU last night and today to meet their new DB coach, Yates. Les was in home prior to that. (Friday?)

I think I heard A&M might have got a commit from S Edward Pope tonight .... could this mean anything about Thompson coming our way?

Did Pope flip from TCU?. All I know is as much time as CLM invested in Thompson it will be a major bummer if we lose him!

Its all over twitter that he flipped from TCU to A&M. What really sucks is that we could have probably had him if we wanted him. He wanted to play in the SEC badly and thats why he chose A&M.
That makes three safeties committed to A&M right now so I hope Thompson switches over to us.

Don't know much about him but at quick glance he looks like a stallion...

Looks to me that Pope to TAMU suggests strongly Thompson to LSU.

Edward Pope is legit .. the kid is 6'3" and could play WR or S. I never could understand why the staff never went hard after him being that we needed WR with height or a good safety. I actually think one of his family member even posted on this board a few times that he wanted to come to LSU.

Am i really the only one that sees him as an OLB in this defense?

Go watch his senior highlights on youtube from 247.com and you will change your tune. Thompson is a rangy safety that punishes people. 6'2" 200 lbs and runs a 4.5. He has the coverage and ball skills that seperate him from the others in this class we have at LB. Corey Thompson Senior Highlights
