Well Snoop Dogg did live in Baton Rouge in 1998 when he was signed to No Limit Records.

It is always tough to land those California recruits--they usually go to Pac-10 (Pac-12, whatever it is now!) schools.

Sounds like Broadus will do the same.

ESPN just had a preview for the show about Snoops kid and he told his coach he was coming to LSU on a visit and Snoop is coming with!

My 1st preference of the WRer class given the realistic possibilites are Johnson, Ferguson, L Fournette, and Dillon/Charlot. I have 0 problem with that as the LSU signees at WR for 2015.

I checked ESPN and they showed his only visit was to ASU and the commercial was JUST on. He was telling his coach and the coach seemed very surprised. I don't keep up so maybe it is old though.

That's my guess as well but it seems like his kid might want to follow his own path

Anything is possible, but I dare say that most of those do not have quite the same ties to the west coast as does Mr. Broadus.

Cordell did mention he wants to get out of LA so he isn't living in his father's shadows. I would be surprised if Cordell stayed, especially is USC cooled on him.

Snoop's parents are originally from Mississippi.

quote:

Broadus was born October 20, 1971, at the Los Altos Hospital in Long Beach, California, the second of three sons. Named after his stepfather, Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Sr. (December 10, 1948 – November 9, 1985, Los Angeles), his mother is Beverly Broadus (née Tate; born April 27, 1951, McComb, Mississippi). His father, Vernall Varnado (born December 13, 1949, Magnolia, Mississippi),was a Vietnam veteran, singer, and mail carrier who was said to be frequently absent from his life.

Broadus is from Las Vegas. He goes to Bishop Gorman there, which puts out a few D1 prospects every year.

He is from Cali, but he did not leave to go to a bigger program.

There are much bigger programs in Southern California than Bishop Gorman.

My understanding is that it was to get him outside of the sphere of Southern California, and some negative "influences" that were floating around.
