@BenLoveTSD: 2016 PG Skylar Mays (Findlay Prep) confirmed recommitment to #LSU to me. Cited even stronger relationship with Johnny Jones. Story to come

@CourtsideFilms: 6'5 PG out of Baton Rouge Louisiana Skylar Mays has committed to LSU!

Skylar Mays Mixtape

"I looked around a little bit," Mays said. "I felt at home at LSU. I’ve been around LSU all my life. The big part of my decision was being comfortable. I’m 100 percent locked in to LSU. I guarantee I won’t be making any de-commitment or anything like that."

"LSU was the first school to offer me a scholarship," the Baton Rouge native said. "My first commitment, when I committed the first time, it was more based on, ‘Oh, I’m so happy to have a scholarship from LSU.’ I didn’t really put too much thought into it. When I de-committed, I wanted to step back and get some space and weigh some options out and look at other schools to make sure I was making the right decision for me."

"They’re losing a lot of guards, so I felt like it was an opportunity for me to come in and run the show there," he said. "Coach Jones is a versatile coach. He’s a players’ coach as well. They run a lot of ball screens, which is my favorite part of the basketball game. I feel like I can really come in there and make an instant impact. I’m excited to be a Bayou Bengal."

Can someone do a rundown of the in state basketball players for 2016? What kind game they have and who LSU is going to try to sign. What's the deal with the Jarreau kid from McD 35?

When he went to the school out in Las Vegas I thought it was over for LSU, good to keep him home.
That's the kind of players LSU lost out on in the past.

Kid seems legit, that's exciting. It seems like LSU needs a big time class for 2016, seeing as how we probably lose a good bit of our scoring after this season. Hornsby, Gray, Simmons, Blakeney, and probably Quarterman. Gotta go get some ballers that can play right away

Knowing he committed to LSU makes this move great. He is going to play some really good competition at Findley and it'll really help prepare him for college.

He needs to develop his shot, but he is a very good dribbler and passer. This is really exciting news. I basically thought of him as a lost cause.

I'm excited, as long as the mutual interest that is back isn't because LSU swung and missed on more top guys on the board

I think most people thought once he de-committed and went to Findley that it was all over, but this is really nice to bring him back in because we need a bigtime class for 2016

No chance of this. LSU has always been interested. Skylar has some things to work on but I'd consider him very Quarterman-esque with good handles and vision but lacking a legitimate jump shot. He will get it though. He's in the 6'4" -6'5" range which is exactly what Jones wants in a PG so I think with some development, Skylar can be great.

Thank god. Honestly he is one of my favorite point guards in this entire class. He's smooth and is a big pure point guard

The last time our signing class centered around a couple of Uhigh commits, that group made the final
