From Billy Embody

quote:

Overall, you can see the arm talent, but consistency is what left myself as well as two other national recruiting analysts from other services wanting more. He wasn’t put in great situations by TCA’s staff, but he had opportunities to execute more than he did.

Hurley unofficially finished 5-of-18 for 64 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Both the touchdown and interception came late in the contest. Hurley was impressive when he tucked it, escaping for around 30 yards of offense.

Accuracy is the issue. We know that. Hope he can figure it out.

That’s a pretty rough stat line…

Thinking Hurley might not be that guy.

His style of play reminds me a lot of Maholmes… that’s just what it looks like when you’re not making the throws. He has good touch and good arm talent with a quick release. He looked out of sort and his receivers looked pretty bad. He’s gotta focus more on footwork and mechanics.

Really don't understand why he is going to skip a year of high school. He's clearly not ready for college ball.

Lot of hs qbs have bad stats, due to wrs and oline play. Arch had horrible numbers in a lot of his games. He's physically built like Jalen hurts was at 19, at 16. Let's give him some time to season in passing game. Arm talent is there, works daily with qb coach, so only 1 way to go for accuracy concerns.

He is 16 years old playing QB in pretty much the most talent rich state in the country. He managed to win a state title as a freshman. He's gonna be fine. Caleb Williams, Arch all have had 40% completion games as junior qbs. 5-18 is rough but 3 or 4 drops make a big difference in a stat line.

I saw several poor throws from him but also a miserable o-line and drops from WRs. That doesn't look like a good team

We won't need him for Fall 2024. In fact, I'm pretty sure he won't be obliged to start until 2026. That's a lot of time to work on issues. But the talent is certainly there.

Yeah. You bring Hurley in anyway. He might never start a game for LSU, but he'll represent the program well.

I saw a couple drops.

He really, really needs to work on his mechanics

I think he can be good, I think reclassifying was a mistake, though.

Those numbers should mean he's the odds on favorite to be the number 1 player, right?
quote:

LCA held Manning, the 2023 class' No. 1 recruit, to a scoreless seven completions and 52 yards on 16 passing attempts. Manning also threw an interception and scored a five-yard rushing touchdown.
quote:

His final stat line for the game was undoubtedly brutal. Manning compled only 8 of 21 passing attempts for 96 yards along with his three turnovers in a 49-13 defeat.

It's one game. It's definitely worth posting but it's not that much of a concern.

Yet.
