I think we actually lose 4. Gilmore, LaCouture, Herron, And Clark. That of course does not include any possible other attrition! Return 5,add 2 that are presently not eligible, and 4 commits at present, although I hope we can add Michael Thonpson from Mo. and I believe we lose at least one commit!

Now, on to OL,,,, wow, we need at least 2 ready to play tackles!! Juco or HS, but ready to plug and play NOW!!

Lets not forget to add a couple 4-5 star running backs so all this beefing up the line crap will matter.

Good point on Clark.

But we actually have 6 DL commits. There's even a story on the home page stating such.

quote:

LSU currently has six defensive line prospects and three offensive line prospects committed for the class of 2018.

TD home page story link

The math is simple. Less DL players per snap, PLUS NET GAIN incoming players (including Fehoko & Shelvin), equals less concern regarding DL.

The OL is the significant issue.

Agree totally on the OK. I am one that thinks we should take 5 quality OL every year!
I would like to take the DT from No. Even if we have to tell one of the present DL commits to look around.

Agreed... along with QB, OL is probably the next hardest position to evaluate talent. And talent like Faneca and Whitworth don't just grow on trees. Since 5 play every snap, we need to take as many as we can every class to fill losses, be it NFL/graduation/attrition or busts.

Our numbers are fine on DL (if we maintain 6 commits), but also agreed we should upgrade whenever possible.

Back to OP... YES, any and all sources should be welcomed.

Yeah - we have a big gap coming up - and that's even if the light goes on for Brossette.
