Yeah we need elite linemen and QB more than an elite RB

C'mon man. Jeremy Hill was ranked 247 in the nation when he came out of highschool and he was a stud running back. It would be awesome to get Akers but it's not like CEH and Etienne are scrubs. Fabian Franklin next year will be a stud as well. I care way more about linebackers, dline, and Oline recruits than running backs.

No shite you fricking weirdo. No one is saying we shouldn't recruit the best. We are saying that LSU always has good backs.

News flash. We just had an all time great running back and didn't win a championship. But guess what...We have a great one behind him, and we'll find another behind that one, and we'll have another behind that one. Hence the point, we will be fine at RB

unfortunately, so does Bama, and they are kicking our arse in THOSE departments as well...

and as far as your Jeremy Hill example, he was only that far down because of his run in with the law, so late in the recruiting stages.... if not for that, he would have stayed up near the top 25, where he was, for a large portion of that cycle...

and Shake, is EXACTLY right... the reason we are losing on the 1st weekend in November every year is because we are losing on Signing Day... we have "good" classes, but when your rival continually has "beyond great" classes, the gulf between the two programs gets further and deeper each passing year....

but they had enough elite players at other spots, like QB and WR, to make up for that. we do not.

Now you are changing the argument. The discussion was "we will be fine at RB", and you said fine doesn't win championships.

Well yeah recruiting matters. But we finish with a top 5 recruiting class almost every year. That's enough to win championships. That's a fact. We have PLENTY of talent. The difference between us and Bama is Nick Saban.

This is a useless argument if there are still holes in the class.

Where are the holes in this class? We still plan on signing another ILB, Wr, DT, and RB. Did we get Dylan Moses? No, but we got Monty Rice who is severely underrated. I just don't see the point in whining about where recruits decide to go. If you sign a top 5 class you should be ecstatic. But no, LSU fans say it's a shitty class because Bama has the number 1 class. We have talent all over the field. If we don't get Akers we will get Etienne, CEH, and Franklin. If that happens we're fine at running back.

I've seen more people bitching about the possibility of losing Moses and Akers than I have happy that we're looking like we're gonna sign Marvin Wilson.

Do people realize that following Rashard Lawrence and Ed Alexander up with Tyler Shelvin and Marvin Wilson will possibly be the best two year run of DT signees we've EVER had at LSU. Just sick

Then you throw in bringing in the best Safety in all the land in Jacoby Stevens right after losing Jamal Adams. Grant Delpit is not too shabby ether. Having possibly two guys with Adams type ability in one class will be unreal.

We also are gonna sign the best OT prospect we've signed in a LONG time in Austin Deculus. People have been screaming for a prototypical tackle recruit since we lost big Cam to Bama and here he is. Deculus is gonna be the real deal.

We also have a great QB for the future. A kid that loves LSU and has the looks of a true program leader in Brennan. The exact type of QB LSU needs. A pro style guy with a live arm and a great mind for the game.

And look, we aren't out of it for Akers at all. Or Devonta Smith. I think Akers to FSU came from us not having an OC, but now we do. Let's give him a chance to recruit Akers before we write him off. We have a great situation to sell him on coming in to.

People can choose to focus on losing Moses, but I won't. Monty Rice looks exactly like another dude we pulled out of Alabama that Bama didn't want, Kwon Alexander. I could see him having a similar career here at LSU.

Let's stop focusing on who Bama gets and let's focus on who LSU is getting. Because we're building a championship program over here

Getting MW can't be undervalue. Akers would be wonderful. We can live without him. Building on the trenches is essential however. Difference between us and Bama is not being able to effectively attack their D with an archaic offense and dept up front in the trenches. Securing players like Wilson and Deculus and hiring Canada helps.

Exactly man if we have 5* monsters on the DL to go with the DBs we recruit it won't matter who's at RB for us, we won't have to score many points to win a lot of games

what the frick makes you think we have some inherent right to great running backs? because we dont. we could be screwed after guice leaves if we dont step up.

if "fine" is your goal, i bet youre in heaven right now. if actually winning the SEC is the plan, were still not even close. "fine" gets you to the citrus bowl, not the playoff.

Once again, you fricking moron. No one is saying that we have the inherent right to great running backs. I have the confidence that we will bring in great running backs. Do you want to know what gives me that confidence? 35 years of watching great half back play at LSU(with a few scarce). Hence, why I say we will be fine. If you want to hang on my usage of the word 'fine' and twist it so it sounds like I'm an apathetic fan who is happy with mediocre play, then by all means tickle your little willy.

I'll say it again, we will be FINE at TB. Whine about it some more if you wish.

P.S. The recruiting class we haul in will be FINE. Orgeron will do FINE as coach. Canada will use our offensive personnel(with or without Akers) just FINE. Our defense will be Fine under Aranda.

Oh, and Merry Christmas and go Tigers
