I guess that means LSU isn't too optimistic about landing big fish, but both are solid.

Jarreau is a big time prospect

#1 player in Louisiana and #61 overall in country

I think landing this duo would be very nice. Jarreau a lot of folks are projecting to Memphis and Gresham was looking to join Peters at MSU. Them going to the same school now could be big for them to stay home. I believe they both visited LSU a month ago or so.

We only have 1 commit and are likely taking 4-5 players this class so we certainly haven't given up on big time OOS guys.

Bottom line is 2016 is probably going to be a step above sucky unless JJ pulls a few big time recruits out of his hat for 2016 (and/or a huge transfer).

Interesting. I didn't think Jones would go for the package deal, but I guess they rate Jarreau/Gresham higher than I thought.

If LSU makes it deep into the NCAA tourney, we could see a flip or two our way I would imagine.

Well Jarreau is a top guard in the country. Gresham is a high 3-star with a ton of good/decent offers:

Alabama
Baylor
Boston College
Cincinnati
Creighton
Houston
Louisiana Tech
UMass
Mississippi State
Nebraska
Oklahoma
Texas
Washington

What he really needs to do is limit the damage from the draft. Simmons, gray and Hornsby are gone no question but if we can return TQ and Blakeney that will go a long way in keeping us from hitting rock bottom.

Gresham is what we need this year. High energy post player who can rebound and block shots. He had a few double digit rebounding games in the peach fest last week.

They both fit very well with what we like to do. I'd take both of their commitments today if we could and would celebrate them.

No, that has nothing to do with it. Most of the guys we have a good shot at landing aren't close to announcing. These are two kids that are blowing up in our state and the staff felt it was time to offer. That simple. Nothing to do with missing out on anyone.

I don't think that's completely true. LSU was just left off Kobi Simmons list and Isaac committed already. De'Aaron Fox isn't looking likely at all. Those are the 3 biggest fish.

Still a ton of great players left, but it's fair to say that more offers are coming as the people move off the board.

Edit: Wanted to clarify. These are good players being offered and would likely have gotten one regardless, but timelines are priorities are changing as people leave off LSU or commit elsewhere.

Brison Gresham would be a great fit for the Tigers. He was a 6 ft 3 guard up until 3 years ago until he grew 5 inches in one summer. His weakness in my opinion is his strength however, his offensive game is already at the D-1 level. He reminds me some what of a young Tayshawn Prince who played at Kentucky that can really stroke the three and bring the ball up court like a point forward. Hell, Arizona is now looking at this kid.

No we have not..it's my alma mater. Lately we've been producing some good D1 prospects but it hasn't always been like this.

You forgot Sci Martin too.

Get us some info about these 2 if you are still connected. I was kinda hoping they would commit soon so we can get things rolling on this class. It's a long way to go but we have a lot of needs.
