I hope we take 4 OL this year. If we take 3, that would be 9 over the last 3 years.
For comparison, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, and Ohio St. have all taken at least 10 OL in their last 3 classes. With only 1(BAMA) taking 10 and the rest taking 11+.

That's about a 305 point class.
New LSU record on 247 composite.

Actually it would be 301.90
Good enough for Top 5 finish.

I'm interested to see how it shakes out. Really like Hargrove. Would like to get LJ or Wheaton but it looks like they're staying close to home at this time.

So what's the story with Shead? If we get Trigg at TE, is Shead a possible position switch or do the coaches like him enough to take as a 2nd TE?

Curious about that as well. Do we really need 2 TEs in this class? I know we lack some depth but with other needs I don't see it unless they project Shead to be an OL down the road. There are many other kids we could land that I feel are better prospects at positions of bigger need. OL, LB, DB.

Would have liked to see those confidence levels a little bit higher, but lots of uncertainty with no visits. Would be helluva class.

Billy's article stated Shead and Walter Nolen #1 prospect for '23 are buddies if I'm not mistaken. Can't access it anymore, but I'm pretty sure that's what I read.

Hmm.
I know Trigg (the other TE) and Mykell Williams (another '23 DL stud) are brothers....so itd be interesting if true. Haha

Was really hoping Faulk would lure a stud RB this year after we had to pass on the head case from Houston last year

Seems like a position switch
Think they want to take more than 3 ol, just cant get the top guys to commit
I think Gilbert is a baller

I have to disagree with taking another RB unless it's a stud. 5 RB's is a bit much, especially when 22 has a couple of studs in state and the #1 RB in the country is very interested.

In terms of actual players we are right there with them. We have several OL (Evans, Hines, Rosenthal) that wont show in those numbers since they came in as DL but that's 2 starters and the heir apparent at center next year.

bingo
save it for a transfer in a position of need, which will arise. Happens every year
Brennan goes down and we have a true freshman to step in. Not the greatest scenario or roster management. Stock-piling RBs - especially when they're not elite - do us no good IMO

Sage Ryan #1 safety listed as a 4star is a disgrace.

I get your point about the RBs but we aren't taking a transfer qb for this season so the point about a true freshman taking over if Brennan goes down is moot.
I don't think taking another back is necessary this class but maybe the staff has an inkling that a transfer is coming if Bradford(great reviews so far) jumps someone or the depth chart doesn't work in a particular guys favor.
Also the term "elite" when talking RBs is much overused. There aren't that many "elite" RBs. In fact I only think there's one in this particular class and he's headed to OSU. The difference in "elite" RBs and good ones isn't really that much. It's the easiest position on the field to find a good player. Faulk chose Kiner over many others so maybe he feels he is among the "elite"
