Its now official who the second LSU softball commit that LSU picked up last week. The first one was Sydney Peterson out west, now its Redoutey. She has officially announced she has committed to the LSU Softball Program, there had been rumors it was between LSU and Florida the last few months.

LSU gains commitment from Mckenzie Redoutey of Georgia Impact Gusaeff, she is currently the #8 player in the country for the class of 2021 and has already had an impressive summer that likely will move her up in the next ranking. She plays in the OF but is a major power hitter who hit over 20 homeruns this past spring. She could potentially be LSU's first top 5 prospect ever.

She is a lefty power hitter, has a picture perfect swing. Defensively she is extremely fast with a cannon of an arm, she throws with her left. While she likely will play in the OF at LSU, she is versatile to play most places on the infield

What's the over/under on how long she's in the program before transferring?

More like how many times will she de-commit/commit to other programs through 2021, that's like 20 years to youngsters...

So now we're ALL CAPS and a bold BOOM for a softball commit who is entering her freshman year of high school?

Wow...

Apparently you do. Come on dude are you really THAT excited for a high school freshman softball player?

I know I'm being a dick, my apologies.

I wouldn't say that excited but pretty excited that we lured in a top prospect who is completely dominating all over the country, yes we still got ways to go until she comes here, why not be excited about what the future has in store for this program.

I'm really close to the program so I get excited whenever we bring in big players. Nothing wrong with being excited about snagging a elite prospect. She very well could end up flopping in the future. Just giving an update on what's to come in Tiger Park. I do this for Gymnastics as well

That's great but it's 2021. Why get excited. Things change unless softball recruits don't back off commitments like football recruits.

It's not very common to see decommitments in softball and gymnastics. It does happen sometimes but not often, most times it's due to coaching changes why players switch schools.

I don't think softball recruits are anything like football recruits, They wouldn't get national coverage on tv for their commits and other stuff. Usually with softball girls usually find a school then they usually work hard until they get to college, much more business like

2021 is indeed a long way from now, but in recruiting isn't momentum important? Recruits see positives in our program and that's why they commit. That can't be a bad thing.

I'm excited!

The recruiting had big momentum since this past fall, we landed a lot of big time players for the 2019, 2020, and 2021 as well.

We picked up Baylea Brandon not long ago and she's a big time player. Plus a lot of these girls play together in travel ball, a lot of their teammates are elite as well so it helps LSU a lot as well

It's stupid how softball recruits based on their travel program. Baseball is heading same way

Not sure why all the downvotes...

Its not always based off their travel teams but travel ball gives coaches a better way of judging talent, competing against other good athletes from other areas besides locally.

Not so fast my friend...

Softball isn't like football where the coaches can get out on Friday nights to watch players. Most college teams in many sports play games on the same nights as the high school teams so fall and summer travel ball is usually the only time the coaches can see these players.

For example, when I was the head softball coach at the high school in College Station, I rarely saw the A&M coach at our games. It's not because we weren't good, but it was because they played at the same times as we did. She would stop by on her way home when we had a big game and we started later than they did.

I've had a lot of my players go on and play college ball at all levels in the last 30 years, but it was getting seen during the summer that gave them the exposure needed to have the opportunity to play in college.
