Do agree with that. Guys can run 4.4 on the track and it doesn't carry over to the gridiron. Guys can also run 4.6 on the track and never get caught from behind on the field ala Jerry Rice.

But my point to my first post is that everybody says they run a 4.4 but the fact is that there are very few legit 4.4 guys out there. I beleive Collins is one of the legit ones. I think he is a true freak when it comes to 40, vertical jump, etc.

Carthon can fly. Not sure what his legit 40 time is but I have seen him run and he has wheels.

the 40 is somewhat overrated... look at the greatest RBs of all time and only one may have run a 4.4.
Walter Payton-4.6
Jim Brown- speed wasn't his asset
E.Smith-tough and durable not a speedster
Barry Sanders--very quick and maybe a 4.4 guy, not sure

You must be one of those guys who thinks every LSU player including Lineman run 4.3 40's.

nope. not at all.

but LSU dosent tend to take undersized guys with questionable speed.

i could be wrong about his speed. but in that video he doesnt look fast.

Carthon committed to play football and baseball at Cornell a couple of weeks ago. He'll be a winner in the "big game".
