Right....poor people and people who perceive themselves to be at the bottom of whatever power structure they exist in are notorious front-runners because it makes them feel like they are on top of something and it's easy to do.

I'm speaking on what people have told me firsthand about the topic. I graduated from LSU and went right into coaching and have had several players recruited by LSU. Call bullshite on whatever you want but that does nothing for this conversation.

Whatever little brother issue is going on at Southern leads to them actively pushing kids away from LSU is a problem whether Gee thinks it is or not.

You do realize that Louisiana kids see more of what's going on in Louisiana and LSU than they do other states that they've never traveled to, right?

I've personally had a recruit tell me the things I spoke on.

I'm definitely not racist, jackass.

a lot of people think LSU is not for Black people

Ok. Let's say this is true. How does it affect recruiting against Alabama?

Alabama student population is 78% white. LSU's is 72% white. So...LSU is MORE diverse than Alabama. So, if LSU isn't for black people, how the hell is Alabama?

Thats basically the point hes making is they are caught up in their little feelings about something that first off isn't true, because they can feel prideful in rebelling against LSU. But thats how the world works these days. Many MANY people living in delusion. Not in reality. Everyone has his or her own reality though, whether it holds much truth or not. Is what it is.

Right. And I don't believe they're not going to LSU because "LSU isn't for black people" either.

Look around the stands at every SEC venue. The demographics are nearly identical across the board.

No, not all of them. A lot of them keep up with LSU.

Grambling's people don't hate Southern. It's an in-state rivalry but one that this friendly.

it's not about an objective standard. it's about subjective feelings

LSU represents the oppressive class. Bama is an "enemy of my enemy is my friend" situation, so their demographics are irrelevant. PLUS, they get power over the very class of people they feel has wronged them

you don't have to believe IN that reasoning, but that reasoning does exist

Eh. Whatever. Not sure why only defensive line recruits seem to care about this. Sounds like you're just making an excuse for why we can't keep defensive line talent in state.

If what you're saying is true, how on earth do we get almost every kid in the top 10 in the state every year?

All the kids in Alabama feel don't feel oppressed by UA, either. Weird how it only affects LSU and only affects defensive linemen. Crazy.

Amazing!!! You are wrong on nearly every one of those comments. Apparently you are not very familiar with LSU, huh? Why do you trolls go on other teams sites and post such ignorant crap? A prerequisite to being a smart arse is you need to be smart to begin with, otherwise you just come across as being a dumbass.

You see all the draft picks off the DL, you see all the trophies in the cases, you see all the talent around you, you see all the support for the program that isn't melting down every day and then you say...damn.

Most guys that have all this blind loyalty to LSU and would never consider going to a school like Bama have never been to another campus in their lives. There is a whole lot of great shite going on around the country. We are just too busy being Louisiana to make much of it.

They will get a chance to earn it, they work like hell for their spot at their time.

JEEBUS!

This thread was about "hated rivals" you jackanape. I gave you two much credit to be able to understand the nuance.

Competitors hate to lose. They do not necessarily hate to whom they just lost.

So, when LSU loses to Bama, "we" hate Bama. The LSU players (and the recruits) hate the loss. But, not the other team.

Is that explained at a low enough level for you?

A lot of what he is saying is perceived in black households in La. Plus, Black kids don't have the long generational/family ties to LSU like Caucasian kids so they haven't been exposed to or told how great LSU is since they were born.

Everyone I know that is from Louisiana; especially south Louisiana, is a die hard LSU fan and would never even consider going to a school like Bama. So how do kids from as close as Baton Rouge go to Bama?

I went to Redemptorist in the 90s. When it comes to the white kids you're 100%. When it comes to the black kids, not the case, even back then. It was FSU, Miami, Nebraska, UF, really a number of teams. Some were LSU fans, most were not.

An upcoming high school senior hasn't seen LSU beat Bama since they were in the 4th grade.

It's the same as all these new Golden State fans that are out here...probably couldn't name a GSW player before Steph Curry, but they're fans SMH
