Basketball is not like football. You can sign as many players each year as you have open spots for. Odoh and Johns will count towards the 2012 class but still count towards the total of 13 scholarships.

#46 overall Center Karviar Shepherd

“I liked TCU because it was close to home,” he told ESPN.com’s Reggie Rankin

He has the body of a small forward, but the neck makes him a center.

What is the latest on Frazier? Are we actually recruiting him hard and is he interested in us? I can't find anything on it. Sorry if it's already been talked about.

Cliff notes?

quote:

“We haven’t set up any official visits yet,” said Jones. “We are looking to set those up in the next month or so. Jarell expressed to me that he wants to sign late so there is no rush to set up the official visits.” New LSU Head Coach Johnny Jones knows the importance of keeping Martin close to home, and is doing everything he can to make up for lost time when recruiting him. “Coach Jones and Coach (Robert) Kirby have done a great job of being consistent and persistent and made it very clear that Jarell is a big priority for them,” said Jones of LSU. “They have done a good job. He definitely knows where he stands in regards to them and their situation.

quote:

A school that has been involved for a while is Alabama. Head Coach Anthony Grant has put in a lot of time recruiting Martin, and continues to do a good job of making his impression. “Coach Grant is a quality guy,” Jones said of the Tide. “He preaches character and showed that last year when he benched those starters and actually put one or two off the team. As a person he thinks Jarell would fit well with the type of student athletes he is trying to bring to Alabama. Coach Grant has been recruiting him a while and is someone he has a lot of respect for.

This one will certainly go down to the wire.

Yep. I definitely think it's an Alabama/LSU battle with other schools on the outside looking in.

The key piece of information in this commitment is that Jamie Ibanez is the guardian/advisor for both Johns and Tony Trocha.

how do we even have room for Trocha? Pull Deng Deng's scholarship?

I really, really want Frazier and Martin to close the class.

Jarrell Martin could come in on Tops. That would open up another schollie for Frazier, Trocha, whomever.

Has anyone been able to find any other information on Johns? Everything seems pretty old on him.

Found this video of the Reebok Challenge All star game that he made in July 2012. Big time 4 and 5 star recruits that he is playing against . Doesnt look to be in that class but it is hard for a big man to show much in an all star game like this. ***once one video ends, the next quarters video starts.

Give Johnny a couple years. Happy to see him bringing in this type of talent for next year.

Says he gots some hop. Im down for him. Im getting excited. Could be the missing link for this team. Great pickup.

Look at the video link to the all star game. I know you can't really judge by one game but boy does he need work. Reaction time is very slow. People were flying by him for shots and rebounds. He did look like he had decent hands and showed a nice move around the basket once, although he missed the shot. Long term project - maybe. Missing line no way.

Rivals rates Frazier #19 overall nationally in the 2013 class, a five-star.
