Jarrell martin #17 isn't that 5* status
Posted on 5/24/12 at 1:24 pm to cowboy4ever
It is. He was given a fifth star.

Yes, he's less than 10 spots from 5-star on Scout as well.

Man he is blowing up I saw an article on him that said he had bulked up to 220 lbs and is listed at 6"9, also said his post game has greatly improved

Man what a class we could potentially sign. Excited am I!!! Come on JoJo!

I have a lot of confidence in Johnny Jones on the recruiting front at this stage.

I am interested in seeing how this 2013 class shapes up. Lots of PF/C on the list, including the top 3 players in Louisiana. Also in on about 5 in DFW.
My thoughts on the class are:
4 signees
Center, PF, SG, PG
Damian Jones or Karviar Shepherd
Jarrell Martin or Jordan Mickey
Xavier Rathan-Mayes or Hammink twins (many other options as well)
David Taylor or Kendal Harris or Tyler Ennis
We don't really know that much about the Hamminks or David Taylor at this point. They could end up being major recruits, or not even get LSU offers. With Johnny Jones' relationship with their fathers, there is no doubt in my mind that LSU will get them if they want them.

Jones at 5. Martin at 4. Randle is a take if he wants to come no matter what.
Then a 2 and a 3.

Obviously Randle is a take, regardless. If we don't get him, I hope he goes to Baylor and puts Gathers on the bench.
Assuming David Taylor is an elite recruit, which we don't know at this point, I would love to get Jones, Martin, Taylor and an elite 2, like Rathan-Mayes or someone else of that caliber. A 3 is possible, depending on scholarship numbers. Don't think it is absolutely necessary in this class.
Shepherd and Mickey are similarly ranked, but I would prefer the Louisiana players, given the choice. I would be happy with any combination of those players, however.

Read a recent story about Rathan-Mayes. He says he is a point guard in college, but is listed everywhere as a SG.

Well I think we'll have a big year on the recruiting front.

There is no basketball recruiting site that does a good job, never believe info from just one. LSU has definitely offered. Got to be like Bubba, and pull info from all over and make your own opinion

I don't know how legit our chances are of landing either of these guys, but a backcourt of Rathan Mayes and Frazier would be pretty ridiculous.
