This is getting ridiculous. If they show up on campus in the fall, I'll get excited. Until then it's a waste of time.

I've almost completely stopped following football recruiting.

I still follow baseball recruiting pretty heavily, but a lot of that has to do with how much I enjoy hunting down the information.

I check in every now and then, but really don't care much until a few weeks leading up to signing day.
It's too much drama and silliness to follow all year round

I've found myself declining in following like I used to.

It's always been like this. I learned a few years back to just read the tea leaves for myself and not take it too seriously. Every year on here the new buga or Memphis comes along and this board latches onto them like momma's titty and inevitably is disappointed when 17 year old kids do what they do best, be indecisive. The sun will rise, and LSU will sign some good players in February.

The irony of someone stating that they have completely stopped following recruiting while starting a topic on the recruiting board.

I canceled my 247 subscription and basically just follow baseball and basketball now. Too much trolling and dumb shite going on in football. You can't even count on a kids commitment if they commit a month before signing

My interest in following it declined a lot last year and is almost non-existent this year. Now, I'll read up briefly on a kid who commits, and then move on. No more growing attached to a prospect. I just presume a guy who commits in June won't be around come February...it's easier that way. No more reading all the debate and conjecture about who is leaning to which school, kids announcing their top 50 schools, and all that crap. I feel bad for guys like Sonny/Shea who I think do a good job covering it and being professional, but it's a complete guessing game.

Pretty much. If I wish to attend a circus I'll go to the actual circus.

Not really. Didn't have the media's glare front and center back in the day. Had our share of shenanigans but weren't advertised, were much more discrete.

I'm pretty much there
I look at thread titles only for the most part.

P.S.
This board has taken a nose dive

I used to watch all the highlights and read interviews but the last few years I don't bother anymore. I've only watched the rb commit from florida's film hoping he was some obvious diamond in the rough.

I just check this board out about once a week or so nowadays to check in. I used to be a recruiting junkee and could tell you every kid LSU was interested in and follow all of the sites. Its a waste of time getting excited about any of it nowadays. Not only do you have kids playing recruiting games and trolling, but you also have the reporters from different publications and sites arguing on twitter, bashing each other. bragging etc. The whole thing is a clown show nowadays. Ill watch signing day coverage.

I haven't totally quit, because I'll still follow the recruiting reporters, check this board every other month or so, and then on signing day, but it's just gotten so ridiculous.

Commit, decommit, commit, decommit blah blah.

Nope. Couldn't stop even if I wanted to. I just don't get emotionally invested in the decisions of the kids.

I follow to be informed and occasionally entertained. I just like to know who the next wave of good football players is and where they're headed.

I watch from a distance. I really don't put much stock into it until a couple of months before recruiting. These players are kids and they often make childlike decisions and change their minds later. Also, if another school comes in with a shoe box a little "heavier" that always plays a role too! Just keeping it real! Geaux Tigers!
