Not even sure if they can be with the team before or on the sidelines at all. I'm thinking I read somewhere that they can't at neutral site games.

Maybe they changed the rules now. But it had been not allowed in the past... from an old article:

"Rules prohibit schools from providing complimentary tickets to prospective student-athletes unless the school plays two or more of their games at that site."
"Therefore, no recruiting can take place for either school during this type of game."
