Amik, Todd Harris, and DB Recruiting..

We've already got 2 safeties enrolled in this class.
Is Shea's CB of Amik to LA Tech an indication that we don't have room for both and that the staff prefers Harris to Amik?
eta: I would love to sign both. Also, given the fact that we aren't going to be signing an OLB in this class, I think I would try to move either Delpit or Harris to OLB and play Amik at nickel.

It could also mean we're going to play a lot of 3 safety looks. Like how Bama used Ronnie Harrison and Michigan used Peppers.
We were thinking the same. Harris is a thumper , he loves being in the box and taking off heads.

Amik is not a Safety for starters.

Don't be so certain that LSU won't sign an OLB in this class. The way this cycle is going, we are all going to be very surprised on Wednesday.
That's not saying that I know anything or have sources... because I don't know shite. And neither does anyone else!!! Nobody knows shite this time around, and it's glorious!

Based on needs I think the staff has to go for LBs and DLs. If Smith wants in (which I doubt) take him. Todd and Amik are good players and can fill in that order if there is room.

Queen will get looks at Rover ILB before anything else. I also agree with Jimmy on trying him out at RB if they sign Gay and Taylor along with Phillips.

Perhaps my wording was a little off. I was surprised to see Shea CB Amik to Tech and surmised that Harris--the only other DB we're currently after--may have affected LSU's availability for Amik..
